There's only so much you can rationally complain about Fred starting when the alternative is McTominay starting, the latter being a player who the large majority on this site seemed to think was a worse player than Fred before the season started.

The crucial, crippling factor is that we have to start either of them when Eriksen is out. But there's not much ETH can do about that right now, it's an issue of further recruitment.

As is this is pretty much the best team he can put out.

We’re just lucky to have two equally brilliant midfielders in Fred and McT. Who was better will be a matter of debate for decades to come.

He covers the left side covering behind Neymar. Thats my point, Pep wouldnt cause they dont play in that position. We play Fred further forward then criticise him for not being able to do it.

Neymar is actually much better defensively than any of our left wingers. Fred is used to cover our LW but also yes to move forward, as he does for Brazil. He doesn't just permanently sit, Casemiro sits more than him and he has more license to roam.

Goes both ways when it comes to Ronaldo and Messi. If Ronaldo is playing he is blamed for literally everything even if he has a good game by people who like the other guy. But there are objective people. I love Ronaldo but anyone can agree he hasn’t looked great this year. I would’ve played him against Spurs just because he had their number last year but I can understand why he’s been dropped.
