I just have this feeling that there's going to be a big scoreline for us. 4-1 win.

Got The Real Football Fan Show on 4+1. The Spurs fan is one of the most annoying cnuts I've ever witnessed on tv. It's made me want us to win it even more.

Mourinho to pull a master class, coupled with Spurs being poor in cup competition to give us a comfortable win.

Poch getting in the excuses early. Make no mistake they are under big pressure to win the FA Cup with 'home' advantage on their side. There's no hiding anymore. He has a really arrogant attitude when it comes to cup competitions. You'd think he'd take this seriously given that he's won a total of zero trophies in his career. I'm sorry but someone who hasn't won trophies can't be looking down on the FA Cup.

Pochettino is deluded if he thinks beating United and Chelsea back to back and winning the FA cup isn't something this Spurs team might need. He's deluded or just trying to take pressure off his players.

He literally scored an own goal and played poorly in this fixture in the league, there is no way we should pick him again.

Bailly is a warrior and has the ability to raise his game for the big occasion, Id play him alongside Smalling.

I have no confidence going into this game, I think Spurs name is on the trophy this year; they've had the easiest run so far, they have played at Wembley all season (we will bemoan the FA's decision to allow this for years after losing this game), no major trophy since 1991, they arguably are better than us and finally we never play well at Wembley.

I expect another no show from United and a painful defeat, similar to the league fixture.

    Come on you reds
I dont judge CB's on accidental own goals that harshly, might just be me tho. And didnt Bailly have a way worse OG too? I think Bailly is our best CB but he hasnt played recently and Jones is, imo, our second best and JM wont bench Smalling. So id go Jones and Smalling, but Bailly isnt bad choice

They are playing at home, in a semi final, in a competition they have the biggest chance to win.

They absolutely need to win this game, which means.... it'll be another 'Lads it's tottenham' moment. I'm predicting Bottleham.

Hopefully, true. We have bottled it badly enough this season both in the prem and CL. A couple of more games to really look forward to before the end of the season would be great. Winning the whole thing would make our meh season, a bit better.

The main reason I will not pair Smalling and Jones in a game like this is because Spurs apply the pressing technique a lot. In fact, we lost to them last time because of this. They will press us early and hard from the moment De Gea has the ball. As good as they could be, Jones and Smalling are poor at handling high presses. I think it will be a disaster to pair them on Saturday. Bailly is better at handling it even though he could get cocky, over confident and at times careless. But he is relatively confident on the ball. I'll go with Smalling and Bailly in this one.

    De Gea

    Valencia Bailly Smalling Young
    Matic
    Herrera Pogba
    Lingard Lukaku Sanchez

Only question mark is over Smalling's partner, I think.

Agree, maybe Jones if he's fit and raring to go as he's had more recent football than Eric. I'd also be ready to hook Lingard or particularly Sanchez if we aren't breaking through on the flanks, and I'd tell Rashford and Martial to be ready to win this one from the bench, as they've done for us many times between them in the recent past.

Jones was worked over by Kane in that game, I would be very cautious about picking him for this one, even if he did play well last time out.

It'll be a tight game, always is against spurs recently.

We have to stay concentrated, can't let them get a sniff early on.

We've seen what City did to them, kept the ball and the crowd died off, cut off any service to Kane and he's just a big wooden plank then.

Midfield HAVE to be playing well, I would personally go with a 4-5-1 and stifle Eriksen.

    I wish this team starts:

    De Gea
    Valencia Jones Smalling Young
    Matic Herrera Pogba
    Sanchez Lukaku Martial

But I know it won't happen.....

Heads up Girls and Boys, if you're going to the game on Saturday, and you have to take a bag with you into the Stadium make sure it's no bigger than 30cm x 30cm

Nothing wrong with that. Good on them.

Looking forward to this. Taking my 4 year old to his first game.. I give it 20 minutes before he gets fidgety and I bribe him with sweets.

He doesn't mind football, goes to his own little club already - but will see how the game goes!

I think I am far more excited for him then he is - but it's a nice story - my first game was 21 years ago, against Spurs in the FA Cup. (2-0, Scholes and Beckham).

Who do you use as the wide midfielders though? We don't have any that fit the profile.

Edit: given this some though a left flank of Shaw and Young and then Valencia Rashord on the right could work but it would be very defensive and this place would have an aneurysm

He literally scored an identical own goal against Chelsea away, but for some reason the referee disallowed it, and it wasn't just the own goal, Jones was bullied by Kane and lost the header to him for the first goal. Even against Bournemouth he wasn't very assuring, against the best striker in the league it will get uglier.

All he says is that the Premiership and Champions League are more important than the FA cup - I don't think anybody would disagree with that. He clearly would love to win the FA cup.

Why is he bringing that up now though? The PL and CL are irrelevant right now. At the start of the season they are the most important trophies yes but to me it looks like he is getting in excuses for failure. The FA Cup is more important for them in the context of the last few seasons. They haven't won anything yet. Getting the 1st trophy is always a barrier you need to break and once you have a taste of winning it's easier to follow that up with more success. Saturday is a make or break game for Tottenham. And yes winning the FA Cup can take them to the next level. After all their last trophy was 10 years ago!

Am I the only one who feels that Utd twitter and social media is overdoing it from last 2 days about going to Wembley and trying desperately to big the FA cup clash

I mean, it's a semi final of a relatively big competition. It's literally their job to create excitement and interest. What else are they supposed to do?

It's a semi finals of cup competition. It's a big game and they should be making big deal about it.

    Valenica
    Smalling
    Bailly
    Young

    Matic
    Herrera
    Pogba

    Sanchez
    Lingard
    Lukaku

Pretty obvious team to be honest.

I think that'll be the team which starts.
And I do agree, it's obviously that Jose sees this set of players as his strongest starting XI.

I get what you are saying, but do remember that the FA Cup, for us is a big deal right now.
We are no longer the reigning EPL and CL champions.
The FA Cup, League Cup and EL are great trophies to win. Hopefully next season we can take it up a level and win the EPL.

I hope Jose is doing his best to convince them this isn't an away game.

It's a neutral venue with 50% fans. If we start believing it's away we will think negatively.

Let's be honest Tottenham WILL have the advantage, but if we can go to City and beat them, we can do it anywhere. Apart from stamford bridge

I really don't see the stadium being an issue in regards to it being an advantage to Spurs. We've played there many times before, tickets are split equally between fans and it's not as if we're inexperienced when it comes to these situations. It's a non issue.

As for the team, Herrera definitely has to start for me. And i'm not sure of i would start Sanchez to be honest. Go with Rashford, Lukaku and Lingard personally.

Hard to say really, i always think its odd in general how much home and away affects performance even at the elite level but it does.

One of their players said it would give them a boost so hard to argue really

I think this game could be full of goals, if all our players turn up. I can see 3-2 to us, in a classic.

Custis reporting that Rashford will start over Sanchez. I'm happy with that.

Obviously not got great confidence about the game given how things are, but I think it’s vital Dembele gets booked early on - the amount of fouls he gets away with throughout games given his apparent invisibility to referees will likely be a big factor against us, so the longer he has to watch himself the better for us.

I know. I obviously want us to keep winning the cups. FA cup is quite prestigious.
But I cant shake of a feeling that we are upping the game, because we have nothing else to play for.
