We'll always have critics- who gives a shit?:)
Waiting to see if there will be jose appraisal threads created if we win today. If we don't I am sure some have already planned to create even more jose bashing threads.

We dont lack a midfeild runner ,Pogba is supposed to be one. We have important injuries. What is stopping us to play mkh in the middle as a midfeild runner nothing but only our ball circulation and system set up. We have all the tools , one needs to use it to maximum use which is not being done.

Sorry prtk0811 but midfield runner for me is someone who joins the attack or runs past the centre forward. We currently don’t have one regardless the set up.

Really hope Valencia and Young push up when in possession. Otherwise it really limits the passing options in midfield and we end up going too narrow as a result.

Didn't expect Bailly to be back! Hope we can beat them!

Rashford will be key up front. Hope he can have a big game and Mkhitaryan as well after a poor spell.

ffs had predicted correctly and then thought Mou would be bit more adventurous so moved Bailly out for Lingard.

Weird line up from Spurs though. No Sanchez or Trippier or Llorente. Dier getting a chance against Jose. Curious to see how they set up tactically.

Think it will be something in between with rashers expected to help out defensively a bit too.

Rashford (and Lukaku's) defensive role should be pressuring Tottenham's ball playing centre backs Vertonghen and Alderweireld to prevent them bringing the ball forward into midfield. It would be a negative tactical blunder to expect him to defend out wide and track Aurier. Young, Matic and whoever is the left sided CB should be more than enough to cover that side of the pitch defensively.

I don't think it's a good lineup but I can't complain either due to the injuries we have. Hope to be proven wrong.
We all hope for a better line up mate. I dream of Ronaldo/Mbappe up front with Verrati in midfield alongside Pogba but I'll go with that 11

Looking at the Spurs lineup though I think Pochettino has changed the tactic to hurt us more. Expect a 4-3-3/4-2-3-1 from them with Sissoko possibly even out on one wing with Alli and Eriksen a bit more behind Son.

Fullbacks will likely bomb forward from them trying to push us back similar to how Liverpool did play.

Key then I think will be good movement up front from our strikers to give them problem.

Just don’t see who’s going to score the goals for us. Think there will be many predictable crosses from Young towards Lukaku, who’ll be comfortably dealt with by their defenders. 0-0 or 0-1

    10/11 - didn't think Bailly was back

    De Gea
    Valencia Bailly Smalling Jones Young
    Herrera Matic
    Micky
    Lukaku Rashford
I got 10/11, Bailly in but no Smalling/Jones, cannot remember which one of them I left out. Went with four at the back, but not entirely surprised the road we have gone.

I had a late feeling Mourinho would anticipate Spurs lack of strikers, dropping Bailly since no Kane around to mess with us, and go more attacking with Mata in 4-2-3-1. Seems too cautious.

With Dier stepping up Spurs will have an extra man in midfield at any time.

Disappointed not to see Llorente start but this is similar to how we lined up against City last season with Son up front. Hopefully we can thread the through balls for him to run onto.

Hard to call this game. Hoping we turn up.. but must admit going into big games without Pogba/Martial fills me with dread as they're our most talented ballers.

Alli, Eriksen are key in this game.. we need to stop their influence.

Matic will have to earn his keep this afternoon that's for sure. Eriksen's movement in and around the final third is top notch and Matic has to be aware of this.

Going to be a tough game but I feel without Kane Spurs are a far weaker outfit. Really need to win this one and get some confidence back, plus silence a few doubters that have crawled out of the woodwork over the last week or so.

Why can't it be 4-2-3-1 with Young on the Wing and Mkhi at no.10?

I'm struggling to picture that. Can you show that as a formation? Have they done this before?

Herrera in midfield and Mkhi in what is hopefully the free role are the key imo.

Good team, looking forward to this, and great to have Bailly and Jones back!

So much negativity here, come on lets get behind the team!

Yeahhhhh, that's not quite what I'm going for. Nice condescending post, though!

Spurs look absolutely toothless upfront. We need to put the hammer down from minute one, push their mids back and isolate their "non striker, striker".

Huge game for Herrera,Matic,Mkhi to stamp some authority on this game.

Bloody hell, Sourness defending Mourinho
Not surprising. Souness may be all Liverpool but he was a no nonsense player and manager who realised the importance of results over performance. When he played for Liverpool he really could put it about as well as being creative. He and Jose aren't a million miles apart
