I think we'll win this, crowd will be up for it and Spurs aren't all that.

    Was excellent defensively against Everton.

It was his best performance so far IMO... However, it can't be overstated how important a fullback that offers something offensively is in the big games. Giving the opposition something to fear when committing players forward is essential.

This is the MUFC fan club HQ in rural Arusha, near the Serengeti in Tanzania (i.e. the middle of nowhere).

They have live screening on match days, so lucky for me, I found a place where I can watch the game with fellow Reds!

The knowledge of some of these fans is as good as many Redcafe posters. Our global reach is just mindblowing.

That actually makes me pretty proud to be a Red, we truly are global.

Your away record is identical to our home record.

    Spurs away: W2 D4 L1 F10 A6
    United home: W2 D4 L1 F10 A6

    Thats almost unbelievable.

Statistically, this match is odds on to be a draw.

Oh come on, I'm sure they know a lot more than that

That is such a cool story, you should make a dedicated thread to their fanclub \ your experience of watching the match with them, would be a brilliant read.

I imagine they would be well chuffed with their fan club being discussed on the biggest United fan forum.

I think because we have such a direct player in Martial on the left, who can take on more than one player at a time, and Pogba, who also pops up in the left channel, at times, Mourinho obviously feels he can get away with a more defensive full back. It was similar to putting Azpilicueta behind Hazard.

    Fantastic that.

I'm absolutely terrified of Spurs nowadays. Have a feeling it will be another one of those games where they will be 2 goals up in about 20 minutes.

This popped up on the United twitter just now...

Big test today. Spurs 1st half v City was one of the best 45 mins I've seen this season.
Prediction... We're gonna meet fire with fire. 4-2 United!!

Nice Idea. Will take some snaps during the game, make a thread later and inform them!

    They've been so welcoming.
Though I cant speak a word of Swahili and their English is understandably as poor, using thumbs up and thumbs down, football is a global language and so communication is easy.
Most still seem positive about Mourinho and advocate patience and all are critical of Rooney and Fellaini!

Fans that have never set foot in the city where there team plays... Is it just me that thinks football-fans at least should have some sort of a connection to the team they support? Or am i totally saying something terrible on a United-forum right now? :nervous:

I don't think it's an issue really, and it's probably to be expected for the big teams in leagues with global reach to have fans in countries that don't have leagues at the level of ours.

    Brilliant. Thanks for reporting

I've no connection to Gemma Arterton but I still regularly superglue myself to her hotel window. By which I mean, with the advent of television people might (for example) fall in love with the United story, the reputation for exciting football etc etc. Football is not just sport but also entertainment, so in effect it's just like being a fan of Gemma's certain movie stars without being obliged to ever set foot on a film set.

I disagree. I think Martial is desperate for some assistance.

    Do they have beer?

But yeah your right football is a global sport and thus has global appeal, which is great.

    Another team has leaked
Here is the unconfirmed starting line-up:

De Gea, Valencia, Jones, Rojo, Darmian, Carrick Pogba, Herrera, Mkhitaryan, Ibrahimovic and Martial.

So no Bailly and no Blind, maybe.

    Ridiculous and completely impractical.
Who are you or anyone else to judge the connection someone has to a team they support purely based on geography?
Football is global and speaks a common language everywhere.

I disagree. I think Martial is desperate for some assistance.

Last season under Van Gaal, Blind, or whoever was playing at left back, didn't always get round Martial. Actually, like this season, Valencia was our most attacking full back.

More often than not, Martial was left alone to get past his man, and often succeeded.

This is not to say he doesn't need assistance. It would be easier for any winger to have assistance as it opens up space, but Martial is the type of wing who can take on two/three players when he's in full flow.

    Agree with this.

A lot might never even get round to visiting any part of Europe. Doesn't mean they couldn't get swept up in the romance of the club.

Personally I love seeing shots like this. Fans from another part of the world coming together late at night to watch the game together. In no way does it diminish local support.

People can support whoever they want. I'm Mancunian and I love that we have fans from all over the world such as the ones above. Our overseas fans are some of the best fans out there.

That's a fecking great team, Shaw the only disappointment.
