    I think we'll win it with a highly controversial goal. I bloody love it when than happens against Spurs. Their tears are salty and delicious.
     
    Tottenham are bang average. We need to avoid stupid fouls and penalties. Other than their pressing, Kane's penalties, Eriksen's standard situations and Alli's cuntishness, they are nothing special.

    I'm sure it was, he still could've just said that he didn't like the elbow etc., but to make a subtle threat was pathetic. Agree on Alli.
     
    Not confident at all, Spurs aren't playing particularly well but just have such little confidence in us at the moment.

    We desperately need a win and hopefully get our season back on track and this would be a good game to do it, against tricky opposition.

    I'm going for another deflating draw.
     
    We should win this game with our strongest XI. I hope Blind starts ahead of Darmian though.

    It would really, really, really be nice to savour a crushing City defeat for once with a victory of our own. Coupled with a Chelsea and Liverpool shock too would be awesome. Asking a lot I know, but no harm in dreaming.
     
    Drawn our last 4 PL home games. 1-1 x3 & 0-0.. Put me down for a optimistic 1-0. Valencia with a shinbreaker deflected for an OG.
     
    Please no Darmian today. He offers nothing going forward and isn't particularly good at the back either.
     
    I think the goals are gonna come today, finally. Reckon we'll score three, hopefully we can keep it tight at the other end.

    Mourinho seems to love him though.

    I assume Mourinho sees Valencia as very attacking, and wants to balance it out with a 'solid dependable' type.

    That was a feature of his best sides (as well as Fergie's tbf).

    The debate of course is whether Darmian is solid and dependable.

    Yes it does seem that may be his way of thinking but Darmian is so poor in every aspect of play when on the ball it's just not worth him being in the side.

    He is good defensively though, especially in 1v1's. I prefer someone like Blind too, especially since I don't rate Son all that much.

    Blind is more reliable then Darmian, but I wonder if Bailly might play with Jones in the centre, with Rojo at LB today.

    I don't think Mourinho will risk having Mata on the wing in a game like this, it will probably be Martial.

    You say risk him but Mata has been the player who has made the difference in many of our games

    Scored vrs Arsenal but more noticable is every time he is substituted the quality of our attacking is affected

    Think the problem he has is Pogba seems untouchable

    I'm not doubting his ability, but it's important to have wide players that track back in a game like this. I'm not saying he should not play, just can't see Mourinho playing him.

    It depends for me. I consider Blind better at interceptions than Darmian, but the latter to be more disciplined in 1v1's. But yeah, I would take Blind too.

    That is a possibility, but Darmian and Valencia both not making the EL Squad on thursday makes me think that those are the two fullback's for the game against spurs.

    Yes I get that - think you are right - we need to win so if Pogba isn't performing like the Everton game I hope Jose is willing to take him off

    I think we have to play Carrick and Herrera to compete in midfield with Alli, Dembele and Erickson coming inside and Pogba/Wanyama will be some battle assuming they all play

    Martial and Mhikitaryan have been very strong defensively lately as well

    Could be a very tight game

    It looks like Pogba and Ibrahimovic are untouchable right now, even to subs.

    It would be great if Martial hits form, with Mikhi looking great at the moment, we could have the lineup we expected at the start of the season.
    That is: Martial-Zlatan-Mikhi upfront.

    To be fair, Zlatan's been scoring a lot lately. I guess he will be rested against CP during mid week.

    He has been great no doubt, but he needs some rest. I think we are over reliant on him, playing him in every single game.

    Yup. Hopefully he'll be rested against CP - I'd love to see Rashford get a chance up top.

    I agree. Pleased with his form at CB. Looking forward to seeing how he does against Kane today, if they both play, as I don't think he has been truly tested yet. Definitely don't want to see him at left back ever again though.

    I think we will struggle to score, particularly as Spurs have good defence, & can see them nicking it either by one goal or two.
     
    I hope Fellaini starts today. At least when he goes off and we arent losing, we have a good chance of winning.
