Well at the time we bought him I said as well that 60M was too much, way too much. I'd be thinking about taking Falcao off and putting Wilson on, or possibly Adnan on for Di Maria shortly after half time if he hasn't improved in the second half.Di Maria is stinking the place up. We're actually playing alright. Our lack of a striker is ruining the side.
Falcao not being in the six yard box for that Young cross is unforgivable. He's hideous.Come on Man Utd you useless shower!We are getting there. Better as the game moves on. Mata and Wilson on for Rooney and Falcao and we'd smash them. Brown and O'Shea would really struggle if we had the pace of Wilson.We're really making hard work of this. Positive signs but the end product we're producing is really poor so far. We need to:
- Up the tempo. We've actually looked threatening when we're not being so ponderous
- Add more variation to our attacks. Swap Di Maria and Young at times. More shooting from the edge of the box to keep them guessing.
- Stop pissing around at the backProbably Di Maria's worst game for us IMO. Had the one good cross but been poor otherwise. Falcao invisible as well. Smalling was all over the place in the first 10-15 minutes but once he settled was a lot better. Everyone has been pretty good really, just Di Maria and Falcao letting us down so far.Poor start, much better as it got on and started looking more like I want to see the team play. Young has been great, Herrera and Smalling good. I'd like us to play the ball to Rooney a lot quicker.Di Maria is as frustrating as Nani was.You don't throw the kitchen sink at a team in the first half... we get more and more into it, we just have to make sure we don't concede... If we keep working we'll win this comfortably in the end.Same as pretty much every other game this season.
Falcao is no longer a good player. Evans is hilariously bad. di Maria has done nothing to repay his massive fee.
But... Smalling has been very good. Blind has been his reliant self. Young has been good, at least he's trying something.

Well it just goes to show that both players have no understanding with the team or each other atm. Constantly making the wrong choices, bad passes, losing the ball and generally being in the wrong place at the wrong time.Have to say this is just befuddling! We have enough good players to beat this lot but aren't threatening to do so. Nowhere near good enough to play CL next season though
Seemed to get a kick up the arse once the crowd booed the backpass to DDG, around 30 min mark or so, and then we got better.
Ashley Young tried his best but Falcao doesn't want to get anywhere near the end of those crosses. I don't know what he's doing out there. Even Fellaini would be an improvement and I'm not his fan.Young is our best player. Pretty much says it all. Our defense, again and again and again, always looks like conceding. ADM looks lost. We haven't taken our chances and now I fear the worst. Falcao is so slow and takes no part in the match. He has all the service today that any top striker could ask for. Why he is still playing for us is a mystery. Confidence is rising though, so I can see this being a bit more comfortable second half.Di Maria is no brainer. He is too rush on the ball if only he takes a second to concentrate!Get Di Maria and Falcao off for Adnan and Mata.

Van Gaal is taking us nowhere. And he's doing it really slowly.Southampton losing plus Liverpool and Arsenal have a good chance of dropping points tomorrow, and we're struggling against Sunderland. I'm going to be so frustrated if we let another opportunity like this slip.A good half considering we haven't scored. I was up off my seat a lot through that half so that's encouraging. Unlucky not to score so as long as we stick to our game plan, we should win this.Buying Di Maria for £65m on the basis of 5 months of form is easily Woodward's worst decision so far. Real made out like bandits in that deal. This is what he's always been and always will be.
He's a complementary piece to a team rather than someone that should be the "main man" ala Robben, Ronaldo, Hazard, Neymar, Messi, Bale etcCan we get Mata on, a player with some vision?- Status
