Really gutted to find out Schneiderlin is actually very average.

I think it's just the tactics mate. All of our players are looking very average under this system.

All you have to do is man mark Martial and throw bodies into the central areas of the pitch and that nullifies whatever little attacking threat we have.

Long, Tadic and Mane have done a great job of making our defence uncomfortable on the ball... Luckily Mane hasn't had the best game on the ball, otherwise we'd be behind. Wanyama and especially Clasie have completely bossed this game so far.

As an aside, can't remember the last time I've seen a team play a 3-4-3 at Old Trafford... It's working really well for them

I am a neutral watchingit. It's quite painfull. Clasie looks like he would be the best player in United's team if he swapped jerseys with Schneiderlin. Fecking Clasie

Sorry man, but I feel sorry for you.

Lingard is simply not good enough. What does he offer?

Rooney inside left, Martial inside right. No left winger. CBJ and Lindgard wingbacks and basically told not to go forward. Don't know if that's called 352. But playing more like 532 with Herrera, the Wig and Morgan all bunched up in midfield. No support for Rooney and Martial. Hence the snore fest.

yes. simply go to 4-4-3. but van Gaal needs to grow a brain first.

It all went wrong when we got rid of fanfare for rocky with the Disney feckin tune. That is unreal

I'd prefer to be Hugh Glass rather than watch another half.

I studied Chaucer and Shakespeare for English A Level. THink I'd rather read their entire works than watch this Unitd side. I've never booed United in my life but I think it's lucky I'm not at OT right now. Please please get rid of the oaf with the clipboard

The trend continues.... The HT scores in #MUFCs last 11 at OT

It's so damn boring. Surely the more fickle fans (abroad) will simply switch teams than watch this dross.

    Consistency :wenger:

how is he meant to score when he hardly sess the ball? More goals for one club than anyone ever. Soon to be our top scorer but yeh why not blame him

Because he plays like shit? Every ball that comes to him he fumbles with. He's so incredibly slow. On and off the ball. Can't string two passes together and his "attempts" at goal were a freaking joke. Are you blind, not watching the game or deliberately stupid? Also what do his overall achievements for this club have to do with the form he is in now for the last 2 and a half years? Should we also get Ole back?

I don't understand how this happens every home game and the management does nothing to change, it's beyond insane

No, all the players give 100% every week if you believe half the posts on here. LVG is merely holding them back from greatness.
That's actually the case, how can you judge the players whatever their mistakes are, if there is not even a plan or tactics for them to follow, even Messi would be lost under LVG

I feel sorry for for the fans who go to the match. I hope they can be refunded. The club is robbing the fans of money and happiness.

Looks like Mata is warming up at HT.

I know it sounds very, very harsh, but Jesse Lingard starting games for Manchester United shows everything that's wrong with our squad management over the last few years. He is a squad player at the very best (more like squad player at a lower Premier League club), his good moments are far and between and he's totally out of depth against a very average Southampton side. I know it's unfair to single him out after such an abysmal performance by everyone bar CBJ and De Gea, but that's just how I feel. As long as nothing players like him start for us we can't expect much improvement.

I noticed we switched back to 4-2-3-1. I don't understand why LVG has to over complicate everything. He played a simple 4-3-3 and got results, and then changes it and gets poor results. Is it really that hard to see?

Nothing wrong with Chaucer and Shakespeare. This United side is utterly shite though.

There are people who have probably spent thousands to watch United for the first time, and they end up with this shite

If I weren't hungover and incapable of doing anything else I sure as hell wouldn't be watching the second half of this shower of shite. But unfortunately I am hungover, and unfortunately I will be watching.

    More like 3-6-1

Don't really understand why people are bothering to criticise individual players on here. This is as clear as day 100% the fault of management.

I thought Lingard has been ok. His on the ball stuff has been decent, the problem is he's sticking to his 'duties' too much and playing farrr too deep.

I've really wanted to give Darmian time but his 'when in doubt, boot it out' philiosophy is disgraceful; the problem is he's always in doubt.

Fellani isn't actually that bad on the ball, it's his off the ball movement and positioning. Schneiderlin and him need to be working in tandem and find the wide players and Herrera consistently.

That was definitely the most vicious booing I have heard. Would hate to still see us 0-0 after 70 minutes, it could get seriously ugly.
