Can't understand how does LVG train the players to play possession based football and still we can't string 2-3 passes. Southampton have been the better side so far with better chances. We have to take more risks in the final third and we need to stop hoofing the ball to poodle boy all the time.

Fellaini in MF, CBJ is like 12, Lingard was okay at Brighton, Blind isn't a CB, Darmian doesn't get England...
But the common denominator is the manager who trains them and who picked them over options. Januzaj is a better footballer in just about every way than Lingard. That's not even mentioning genuinely class Juan Mata.
If we're going to lose the midfield battle anyway, get Fellaini out, put in an actual footballer and let's see what we can do. Alternatively, get rid of Lingard, put Felliani up top right and play someone who can pass the ball in CMF.

A United game should never be a non-event. That's what it is becoming though, the fans are not looking forward to the matches. Rooney inside left, Martial inside right. No left winger. CBJ and Lindgard wingbacks and basically told not to go forward. Don't know if that's called 352. But playing more like 532 with Herrera, the Wig and Morgan all bunched up in midfield. No support for Rooney and Martial. Hence the snore fest.
Same can be said for the other wing. Lingard has come forward a few times and Martial drifts wide sometimes but there's not nearly enough wingplay. 3 at the back, eh. Let's cater to the opposition, which are Soton..You've got to think that someone will soon let us in on the joke, it's been running for far too long.
