Hoijund brings nothing to this team, it is time that he sits on the bench and sulk. Whoever scouted him and recommends us to buy him should be out of job. How can United win a game when you have a striker who doesn't make goal scoring opportunities or create? Hoijund almost has the fear of getting himself any opportunities that he missed so he spend his time wrestling defenders. He probably has a career in WWE.

Too slow, too passive (tired?), and when forward they prefer passing the ball way back to Onana..WTH?!!

Another disgraceful half. Fecking unbelievable how they can let their level drop like this.
This is on Amorim to change though - they are setting up without a striker and we have 3 CBs - need more bodies in advanced positions otherwise our only way out is a long ball over the top, which has had a bit of success, or lumping it up and they have a CB who is nearly 2m tall.

We really haven't been good in any phase of play out there. Set up is disjointed and Southampton are cutting through us again and again. It's actually embarrassing.

Getting dominated by the mighty Southampton at home, would happily sub the majority of the team, but Zirkzee should tart the second half for me.

Come on, don't be so ridiculous.

What's ridiculous is that we're lucky to only be down 1 goal at halftime to the worst team on pace to be the worst in EPL history.

At the very least Amorim needs to abandon this 3-4-3 nonsense in a hurry, because it's clear that our mediocre players aren't suited to play it. And he surely won't abandon it and we'll spend the rest of the season wondering just how close to the drop zone we'll actually finish.

Getting danced on by possibly the worst premier league team of all time in Old Trafford is almost as embarrassing as it is predictable. Need to sharpen up in the second half, big time.

One bad half and the fans turn yet again. Amorim and Bruno saw this coming, it's almost like they know the mentality of their team mates is lacking.

This has been a tactical disasterclass.

The fact our wing backs have been so defensive has created so much space for Southampton to play out. Our front three are getting pulled over the place, which our centre midfielders are trying to compensate for leaving huge gaps for Southampton through the middle. The amount of times I saw Mainoo and Ugarte at the top of the pitch...

It was almost like seeing Ten Hag's team again.

Another comedy goal conceded but nothing less than Southampton deserved. Easily the more dangerous team and Onana has kept us in this.

We're being outclassed by a team with 6 points after 20 matches. Says it all.

The entire team is lethargic and clearly exhausted. I don’t know where to start with the changes but our two midfielders, Yoro, Mazraoui, Amad, all had an especially rough half.

Not convinced Mainoo has the required fitness or dynamism to play at this level. Looks leggy on a regular basis, which means Ugarte has to cover more ground

Atrocious half. I just don't understand this team. Amorim should stop insisting on some elements though. It's his fault. I hope he scores two in the second half but Hojlund is useless and not an United caliber player. It's pointless.

Fair play to Southampton. They've been really positive and have pushed their fullbacks up to be tight on Amad and Mazraoui and we have no way to get out. Our only option is to go direct to Hoijlund and he just isn't able to hold the ball up and get players in support. Amads and Mazraoui's positioning is a huge issue right now.
It's more of the same, putting players in positions they don't excel at. Any manager worth their salt could work out that forcing Onana to go long to Højlund would hobble us. The question now is what will Amorim do to change the momentum?

Our ball progression is just so bad and should be much better now. Once teams pin us in our half we almost never manage to pull them apart and play through them. Was the same in the first half vs Arsenal.

If the CBs are just going to pass sideways and the the wingbacks the same we will get forced into playing long. We need to try more risky passes or have the CBs more willing to drive through the space to create gaps. The ball barely sees Ugarte or Mainoo when we start attacks from Onana and that’s terrible for a team that wants to pass from the back.

The less said about the attack at this point. I’d argue none are good enough to start for a top half club let alone a CL aspiring club.

You missed the chance he created for Garnacho I'm assuming.

Although I don't completely disagree with the essence

We have one shot on target. And that was a weak Bruno shot straight to their keeper.

Wtf is actually going on with this team seriously.

Like how do even explain this

    Why??
    How??
    When??

    It's Southampton ffs

Anyone else think that Walker Peters one was a handball. Why is his hand that high? How is that markedly different from the De Ligt one last week? I just feel like we literally never get any decisions these days.

Deserved lead, should've been 0-1 before.

They've been bright and mobile while we look like we've been just dragged out of bed and pushed onto the pitch to play.

We look tired and slow, losing all the 5O/5Os. Why are we keep hoofing the ball to Hojlund when its clear as day that he does not have a chance in the air?
No other way out. The wingbacks are penned in so they are chipping it up to Hojlund because every time he comes short he loses it.

This is on Amorim to change though - they are setting up without a striker and we have 3 CBs - need more bodies in advanced positions otherwise our only way out is a long ball over the top, which has had a bit of success, or lumping it up and they have a CB who is nearly 2m tall.
    What cb is this?

I expected us to struggle but God that was awful. No control at all and Southampton created 4 big chances before the goal. They've deserved their lead and I'm really worried about second half. In attack we weren't bad and had 2 big chances but you don't create more when the opposition is dominating.

2nd half will be a tough watch. Dreading it already as anxiety and panic will increase with time. Big halftime talk for Amorim.

This is a wake up call for those who believe we have certain players who are generational talents in our team and are acting like Ineo's are the glazers for wanting rid of certain individuals
