By the time this ban is over he will have missed soooo many games for us added to needing to ease him into the league.
    Honestly, it’s borderline for me

He'll hopefully be playing in the Europa League assuming we don't mess up on Thursday. Concerned about missing him against Newcastle and Brentford, if we had won those we will have secured top 4 I reckon.

We beat Palace with 10 men but had 2-0 lead when Casemiro was sent off and it was around 70th minute. There is whole half to go here with most of the players playing all the time. Saints also fighting not to get relegated. Not sure if I want to watch the 2nd half.

To be fair that is always a red card these days
So by the letter of the law it's a red. That's fine. Then show the same consistency at the other end and give at least one penalty. But nope. The threshold for a penalty is incredibly high compared to reducing a team to 10 men apparently. Joke.

Are people being intentionally obtuse or is this what it means to be a biased, hypocritical football fan?

Casemiro's was a red. Doesn't matter how you want to slice it. If you challenge for the ball and there's a follow through (even if you make contact) it is a foul. In Case's case he make contact with the player's shin. That would get checked all day and deemed a foul. Not intentional, yes. Unfortunately, absolutely yes, but red card, yes as well.

I didn't see a replay of Bruno's but that might be debatable and should have been VAR'd at least for perspective.

Also doesn't look like most on here know the handball rule. It effectively states that players are allowed to support their body weight in the event of a fall, and hand hitting the ball as a result of that is not considered a handball. It is that simple. Again no grand conspiracy against us on that call.
No conspiracy, but horrible referring, no matter how you want to paint those decisions.

With the pen, can see why maybe it’s not given (I think it’s a pen)…but why no check or sending Taylor to the screen. Inept twats.

Referee should be made to explain their decision to the press. If they can't then they need to be demoted. It's atrocious that they keep getting away with these kind of calls. Their bank account also need to be checked. Either it's blatantly incompetent or corruption.

I did use that logic as well but if it makes you feel any better, Palace are a better side than Southampton

Didn't Marriner give a penalty for that yesterday according to some on here?

People blaming the ref are one of the reasons our players are unbelievably stupid, because they know there's no accountability. They will always be absolved of any blame or responsibility for the outcome, so they don't have to display any discipline or common sense.
But the referee is the one who gets to enforce accountability, not people on a forum.

Casemiro's foul was needless but didn't deserve a red.

    Bruno's penalty claim is laughable

Obvious handball penalty isn't even being looked at.

So match is fixing for Liverpool to go top, Klopp is crying about that.

People arguing Case was a red due to the follow through also denying it wasn't a penalty on Bruno despite being taken out by the follow through?

    K

    He got the ball first.
And you must be an idiot to think otherwise.

"Gets the ball first" One of the most ridiculous takes I always see when it comes to the red card arguments. It's fine to get the ball first even if you end up breaking the oppositions' players leg after that. What happens after you get the ball apparently doesn't matter.

When I see such takes I realize the one I'm talking to doesn't watch football.

Why the feck is he going over the top of the ball and planting his studs mid-shin on the opposition?

We have the dumbest players of all time.

He didn’t go over the top of the ball. He won the ball and his foot went up after winning the ball. He can’t detach his foot once he’s made contact.
Fabinho does them week in week out

We have to call out both refs. This is rediculous on another level. Might as well appeal it. What the different between 4/5. Make it in tweets and let them know that was fcking shite.

The thought of having to watch McTominay play hide and seek for 4 games makes me sick...

The handball stops the ball going straight to Weghorst! How is that not a penalty! Stop defending brain dead rules ffs. You’re part of the problem.

Cas maybe a bit unlucky but lunge in with studs up and you are asking for trouble. Not a pen either for me, from 2 views the guy slips, is trying to take him arm away and really can't avoid the contact with the inner part of his upper arm. Seen them given with this useless VAR shite but instinctively no for me.

Team selection leaving midfield so open has allowed Soton far too much space too break into, they have not taken advantage of it, and Utd still look very dangerous in broken play, even with 10. If they get too aggressive chasing the win against 10 Utd will do them on the break.

    Or the other way around.

We need to switch to 4-3-2 with two speedsters up top to stretch them. I would take off Antony and bring Garnacho on and I would take off Martinez because of his yellow.

Where are you guys getting four match ban from? The VAR check was for serious foul play, straight red is a one match ban, three is for violent conduct.

So he’ll miss two games, one match for straight red, one for second red.
    Is this true though?

Nowadays, if they look at the screen, it's a guaranteed decision in favour of what's being checked.

    It's pointless
