Mctom is obviously more reliable right now (to Ole anyway) so it's not surprising he gets the nod tonight. He handles the press relatively well too, which is a plus against Southampton.

He definitely doesn't, he's actually quite careless in his passing too. I hope he does well today but he hasn't been all that since Leeds. His performances are just average from what I've seen, which isn't bad by any means. But it's odd when you're going to need to play out from midfield and have two holders in the middle.

Need a win here badly, ideally with a few goals though this Southampton team is not one we're going to easily boss around. Pogba on the bench makes sense seeing as he's played a lot recently due to his good form. Probably in bad need of a rest.

He handles the press fine (watch him tonight under pressure) and he isn't terrible on the ball, just average.

I agree two DM's is overkill, though. It adds congestion to the midfield and obviously lessens our attacking threat by a fair amount. We're probably in for another tight encounter, but we're used to that these days.

When are people going to realise that McT is NOT a defensive midfielder! Think what you like about him but he ain’t a DM. I actually think he’s far more effective when he has licence to get forward (as he did against Leeds)

I'm ignoring a fixture that was 3 months ago. After that he's been involved against: PSG, Leipzig, Sheffield, Leeds, Everton, Manchester City, Watford, Liverpool and Sheffield United.
