Philosophy
Our luck has well and truly run out.All those attackers and we score 0 at home.Poor result. But lots of positives at least today. We looked far better than recent weeks at least. Still not creating enough chances though. Credit to Southampton, they were solid and defended very well, then took a chance when they finally got one, were we squandered ours.fecking embarrassing and this is all down to LVG and his insistence on playing 3 at the back.
It doesn't fecking work and we have been lucky with most of our victories in this formation. Now our luck has run dry and its because we can barely muster a shot on goal with this shape/tactic.
Change it or he should get out. We have plenty of top level players who are effective on the wings and can play in a 4-3-3/4-4-2. It would have got us 3 points today with the amount of possession we had against southampton in the first half.

It certainly looks like his "philosophy" is very outdated. We've been horrible to watch this season.Koeman outclassed LVG completelySouthampton played this game to perfection, Koeman deserves a lot of credit. A young manager who plays good, expansive football the right way, open to ideas.
LVG on the other hand, is far too stubborn with his philosophy and why he persists with the 3-5-2 I have no idea, even when every one is fit and with Southampton only playing with one striker. Even his subs are shocking. Why wasn't Falcao on the bench, yet we had McNair/ Blackett and Evans there? We then resorted to long balls up to Fellaini, like a League Two side.
Blackett is just not good enough for our first team yet, period. Horribly exposed for their goal.
Man of the match has to be Schneiderlin. What a player. Carrick/ Mata/ Blind/ Rooney never really stood a chance.

Dunno if LvG let the rivality with Koemann get to him, but our two worse games this season have been against Southampton, very similar games with small margins. Today, it went in their favour, last time it was for us.
