Looks like Mourinho is a Fellaini fan. Swap Herrera for Rooney and i'd be happy with that team.

What does mkhitaryan have to do to start Whilst the terrible Rooney keeps getting minutes.

Must be so demotivating for him

    Pogstarts!

Manchester United (4-2-3-1) De Gea; Valencia, Bailly, Blind, Shaw; Fellaini, Pogba; Mata, Rooney, Martial; Ibrahimovic.

Southampton (4-D-2) Forster; Soares, Fonte, Van Dijk, Targett; Romeu; Davis, Hojbjerg; Tadic; Long, Redmond.

I guess it's unexpected that both Pogba and Fellaini start.

Mkhitaryan will be the new Felipe Luis/Cuardrado. Wonder who will sign him in January

Hopefully we get a good 60 from Pogba and are 2 goals up by then.

Is Carrick fit? Not even on the bench?

Fellaini and Pogba is like Man Utd midfield is singing "Let's get physical... physical..."

Hope we have time to sell him and Carrick before the window closes.

Carrick is past it, shouldn't even have had his contract renewed.

Hope we're not wasting club resources on players who aren't all of a sudden in the managers plan. We're not a sugar daddy club like Chelsea where it doesn't really matter, despite how filthy rich we are.

    Same. Extremely worried.
Calm your tits. Mata had a great game vs Bournemouth so it would've been very harsh to drop him. Mourinho said it himself, he's a great player and he'll get plenty of time, but for the start, he wants the settled team and continuity from before while a few players bed in, and Miki is the smallest of the new signings and the most prone to struggling with the premier league a bit because of his size, so he's introducing him slowly. Just look at his previous signings like Willian and how long it took Mourinho to integrate him into the starting 11.

Just because he's not in the 18? Carrick will be an important player for the year and once we start playing in the cups, we'll have loads of rotation. August you never see much rotation because it's the very start with 1 game a week.

Pog in a defensive midfield two... not too sure about that.

Hope Rooney comes off at some point for Schneiderlin and we can push Pog further forward.

I wonder about the exclusion of Targaryan. Not complaining since Jose knows best, but I would love for some journalist to ask him if it is performances in training, tactics or adaption to the league.

But like I wrote in the Micky Targaryan thread, after Rooney has been given his 5-10 starts and been largely underwhelming Targaryan will take his place.

Are you trying to tell me that Mkhi can't get ahead of Rooney? What the hell is Mourinho thinking?

Just read the interview with Ander so it's disappointing that he's the one dropped instead of the mop, and still no Micki which leaves our forward lines lopsided and lacking in pace.

Mkhitarian must look really rusty in training. Surprised he's now got 0 starts out of 3.

Tonight will probably be fine, but Fellaini and Pogba look an odd choice for a midfield two. Hopefully Rooney drops deep sometimes to allow Pogba freedom.

    Game of 10's.
