Thought hes defended well for the most part and not given much away that way
Agree that he's been fine. Had a couple of dodgy moments but mostly good from him. Criticism in here is over the top, sure he's not as a good as Shaw but he's been fine.

Malacia, AWB and DDG are passing us into trouble.

Also, there is no one with raw pace to exploit the wide open spaces Seville are giving us on the wings.

Casemiro hasn't been too sharp either.

Fecking hell, I swear scientists are going to have to genetically engineer footballers without arms if that Bruno ‘handball’ was a booking. What are you supposed to do with your arms in that situation?

Excellent first 25 min but terrible final 20 min. Its the really frustrating thing about us that we can never keep performance levels up and, as awful as Seville are, could've been 2-2.

De Gea's distribution keeping Sevilla in the game. Surely Ten Hag can't be happy with it, I'm surprised we're not looking at other goalkeepers.

How do you know that unless are you part of the recruitment/scouting setup at the club?

Amazing start! Very poor last 10-15 minutes.. Inviting pressure holding the ball with our worst ball playing players (De Gea, AWB, Malacia..)

I just keep waiting for Sancho to click, but he's just a couple of seconds late to everything, holding the ball too much instead of releasing early. Anthony looking like a threat, they need 4 players to stop him.

All in all, 2 more goals to really kill it off as Fernandes will be suspended for next leg.

The triple whammy of the awful foul on Casemiro, then Varane going down, then the absolute comical booking for Bruno seemed to affect us and we were hanging on for HT at the end.

Bizarre because for the first 35 minutes we'd battered them.

    Need to re-focus.

Dislocate them and hide it behind your back obviously

I think he's good under pressure

Excellent opening 25-30 minutes but we've gone into our shell since. Sloppy passes, unable to get into any rhythm. And De Gea's goalkicks take ages off my life expectancy.

Imagine if Casemiro stamped on an opponent like that in the PL - he would be summarily executed on the field. He has to be pissed that Lamela got away with it.

Also, to anyone who ever praised Weghorst's supposedly good link-up play: Martial's performance is what good link-up play looks like.

Good start and superb 20-25 mins..

    Then shit last 15 mins..

The team must be more consistent and far more lethal in attacking transitions, Seville leaving huge spaces behind their defence and we should've destroyed them 4-0 this half.

And Sancho is way too chill and relaxed, zero intensity in the way he plays as usual, but we gotta do with him since Rashford and Garnacho are out.

We've been sloppy after a great start to the game. I hope this won't end something like 2-1 or 3-2 because we are creating chances to kill the tie in this game. We just need to be more clinical.

Our sloppiness at the back once again let them back into the game when they should be nowhere near. We should be 4-0 up at the very least. Enough of ponying around at the back that we keep doing. We do not have the personnel for it and it keeps getting us in trouble.
It’s on purpose, they are pressing us high and we deliberately draw them in and play our forwards in on the break, already worked once so far.

Granted, that’s a bit risky with our personnel.

Martial has put on a technical masterclass. Just great hold up play and passing and on the half turn they have no answer. On this form if we keep firing it into him we will definitely get more opportunities. Hopefully his physical fitness is there.

I emean the save doesn't erase his awful distribution which is one of the reason we ended the half on the back foot. He gave the ball away like 5 times in a row, how is any team supposed to play like that.
    Agree on distribution

Agreed, it’s absolutely ridiculous and the card should be overturned by uefa, but that’s not ever going to happen.

Seriously. I can just about understand that it's a freekick. But an effing yellow? Did the ref think it was deliberate? Because Bruno isn't that good, hitting the ball with the back of his elbow on purpose.

Martial has been good, Sancho plays like a geriatric and Malacia is just raw, not a fan of his football at the moment.

Everyone talking about a poor end to the half, expect this for the rest of the season. They can't be full go the entire time when they play every 3 or 4 days. Fatigue is here now, either they ramp it down a bit and have a period where they're under pressure, or they keep going 100% and risk muscle injuries.

Ideally we can score on more of our chances when we are giving it our all and in sync, which would make the parts when we're on our back foot more manageable.

Malacia and Wan-Bissaka give me a twitchy bum when they're playing out the back.

We play really well but for more control we need Eriksen on the pitch. Bruno is great and shit but he is not type of player who will keep possession

Great start, 2 excellent goals. Sloppy last 15 though

We can put this tie to bed with the right attitude in the second half

Martial is such a good footballer when he's on it. I know there's no point getting our hopes up with him. Why does he do this to us?
