Few players, looking rusty, lacking game time. A few others, simply going through the motions, and a few simply not good enough, to be starters.
Pereira, not had the best of games, but at times, he makes the game look simple, seems to have the ability to give himself, just that little more time on the ball.
Overall, we need to improve ball rentention, no real control in midfield.
The point is did we need a player like him in the middle so desperately to go out and spend 50m on him?

Yes, Cleverley was/is fairly definitely a better player IMO. McTominay might be a decent player for the likes of Reading, I really can't see him going much beyond that.

It's a well known fact Ole likes to high five. After a while people get tired of it.We need to remember Reading are 2nd bottom of the Championship and have won only 4 games all season. Even our 2nd string should be steamrollering them.
Totally agree. The stuff that has been said about Darmian, too, is laughable. If we could replace McTominay and Perreira with better football brain quality we would see a more fluent game.Fred and pereira are trying things but need to look after the ball better, McTominay needs to stop hiding in the 2nd half.

He may well be, our midfield is non-existent. He could just be hiding in there.Feels like a preseason game, minimal effort and rusty as feck. Bring Garner abd Chong on at least they might up the effort
Yeah I'm convinced we'd look more threatening with Chong on the right instead. We literally have no threat on the right at the moment.

That's like saying Lukaku is the Pelé of this era. Cleverley had some great games for us. McTominay is a league one player.

Glad we're leading. Poor showing from the players out there though, particularly the midfield. Would like to see a bit more effort and some better stuff played in the second half. Perhaps some of the youngsters.Hope Chong for Mata happens soon enough to give the lad a decent run out.Talent is there for Fred but set up to fail in this particular midfield 3. Very talented but some really silly misplaced passes.
Pereira would be better further forward but ultimately not good enough.
