We have not played well, I guess you could expect that after 9 changes, we just have much better individual quality. At times we have made Reading look decent, which is a bit laughable given they are hovering close to relegation in the Championship.
After that first half not many players can argue Ole should consider them more seriously for a first XI place. Perhaps the most impressive player has been Darmian, who has done very well as a full back at centre back. That in itself says a lot.Fred, Andreas and McTominay all look bang average. In what world is Fred worth £50m.People forget too quickly once things are not clicking for a player. Lukaku is a very lethal finisher.I really don’t get the hate Lukaku gets on here. Last season he was a huge part in why we finished second. Hasn’t had a good season but there’s a quality player in there. A bad 6 months doesn’t change that.Wow, that half was as awful as it gets.

It is great but does not dispel the belief that he is a flat track bully. Has a lot of improving to do. Less time in the gym and bulking up and more time concentrating on his first touch.
Ain't that the truth.To be fair, Reading have been playing out of their skins. It's a huge game for them and they've really stepped up what they're capable of. Can't see them keeping up that level of intensity into the second half though and if we get a third goal early it might be 4-5.
Come on, given mct darmian just played their first game under ole, Sanchez need more minutes (and he did provide an assists to lukaku) and Jones being Jones

I would like to know when Andreas wasn't bad. Very ordinary performance with two flashes of class putting us into a pretty flattering lead.
As others have said at around 60 minutes or so if we're still in control of the match I'd like to see Chong and some all-out attack excitement.At least we know our midfield trio going forward (Pogba,Matic,Herrera).
Nice first touch from Rom and sweet finish.
On solid half doesn't change peoples view of a player.Winning ugly. Nothing wrong with that.Fred hasn't been too good but still better than the fans darling Pereira who once again proves nothing on the pitch when getting his chance.
He's not a defensive midfielder and it's obvious today. Trying to dribble and be clever in dangerous positions with no awareness of the Reading players around him. Not convinced about him at all.
Overall not the best performances, but that's understandable with that midfield. Alexis has looked dangerous on the left and it feels like he's getting closer to a goal. Lukaku has been decent and took his goal really well.
Looking forward seeing Chong in the second half.Still not a fan of Mata. Luxury player.Steered clear of this place for the first half. United have been poor imo. Reading were full of ideas and energy. In particular, Pereira and Sanchez look slow to react, a second behind in thought. Herrera and Jones solid, and well done Mata and Lukaku.
If United score again it’s a practice match. Would like to see Fred score.You'd think some of these players would be desperate to show the new manager that they're good enough to play but they've been very disappointing. I just don't see a future at the club for the likes of Mctominay or Perreira.

Fred is class. He's just having a poor first season in England. We have seen this before where a player has a bang average debut season but turna out to be great asset. I believe Fred will click. If not here, elsewhere. But it can be here.
Spot on, over complicates things at times and therefor loses the ball but at the same time looks a player with a fantastic pass and a good engine in him, tbf he's hardly had a chance all season so hopefully will settle eventually
The prospect of Martial-Rashford-Sanchez front three would scare any side.I don't know what some are watching. Pereira is the only one knitting that midfield.
I don't think many doubt his ability to score goals(at least against the majority of our opposition) The issue, as ever with him, is his all round game. As an option off the bench and rotation player he can be fine but I don't see a reason at the moment to put him ahead of Rashford in that CF role. Rash just offers more.

Our midfield trio of McTominay-Pereira-Fred is getting absolutely obliterated by a midfield that'll be in League 1 next year.
