They need to add some muscle mass for sure because what they can't provide with tekkers, they have to compensate elsewhere

I just don't see them developing that physicality. Garnacho has a bit of pace but again its not blistering pace and he hasn't really got a frame that I think will put on too much more mass. Amad is working with even less physical gifts and is older. For both of them their technical side isn't outstanding enough to compensate for that. Maybe I could see Garnacho getting there but I still think he's pretty limited.

Loads on this sub refuse to criticise Hojlund no matter what. It's always someone else's fault whereas Garnacho's become a punching bag. I'll praise and criticise players based on merit in an individual game. You clearly have an agenda because Hojlund wasn't even open.

Here's the picture so people can actually see for themselves. Literally impossible for Garnacho to pass through an opposition player:

I agree this has been one of his worst games. And it’s fine to criticize a players’ performance. I just think many are tired of the OTT bashing.

Awful half of football. We pay a lot of money to some painfully average footballers.

Our midfield is losing the battle here and this lot of PAOK are barely championship standard. it's the game of their lives and they're playing like it but realistically given the supposed value of footballers we have you'd expect better.

Bruno the best player but it's not been an easy watch. Maybe amad has threatened to do something but our game plan seems to be "get the ball in the box early" and nobody is getting on the end of any of the first, second or even third balls in there.

I would say my hopes were high. But they’re not even that.
    Where the feck are we?

We're playing the same system we've been this season and the result is the same. No consistency of chances combined with our poor attackers resulting in a nothing attacking performance. Amorim will have to drill into this lot's heads to get them working as a functioning attack. At least he'll have basically a free half season to do it.

    Amad is far to wasteful.
As exciting as he’s been Amad needs a lot of work on his final ball and work around the box
One of the most frustrating players we’ve got.

Not a great half but not a bad one. Not really understanding the hate for Amad's performance, I think he's doing well and should have won us a penalty.

Amad left it run through him because Bruno put so much weight on the pass that Amad assumed it was for an in running player behind him. If you're lining up a player to take a shot, you take the pace off the pass so he can shoot first time and not need to take a touch. Bruno is always getting the weight of pass wrong.

Also this ETH system we still play is absolute garbage. I’m watching Dalot try to play penetrating balls and Casemiro making runs while our 3 attackers get easily marked or have to hold width on the wings.

That shite worked for Pep because it would be Cancelo playing it to Gundogan but it sucks with our personnel. Just play a standard 433 system for feck sake.

So why do you like him? 72m for a squad player.
Potential is there, he's just not ready yet. Add to that, he's been playing in a dysfunctional team under an absolute terrorist of a coach. We needed a striker like Osimhen, not fecking Zirkzee.

I agree this has been one of his worst games. And it’s fine to criticize a players’ performance. I just think many are tired of the OTT bashing.
The problem is he has the same problems in the majority of games he's played for us. He's a great finisher but he's consistently in terrible positions and not making the right runs. I'm not sure that instinct is something you can coach into a player.

Look at Nunez. Fantastic movement and terrible finishing to begin with, but the latter is something you can work on over time. The former is usually something you just have or you don't.

I fear for him honestly. Our players combine a shocking lack of technique with average tactical/game knowledge. Very frustrating bunch from defence to attack.

If you knew nothing about football and watched United you wouldn’t believe they’re even a top flight team. Like we’re honestly so fecking bad there are championship level teams way more technical than us it’s mind boggling

You call this cautious? We treat the ball like molten lava.

To me it feels like we treat the ball like a fabrege egg. Everyone takes about a billion touches before moving it on, we're willing to tip toe with it and if there's any danger at all involved in a decision around holding it we're happy to pass it back to the guy who had it before.

Cutback was on but we never play them. You can criticize Rasmus for taking the open space for the cutback when he should know it is never coming from our wide players or you can criticize the fact that our wide players choose the wrong options all the time. In the end it is just a freezeframe of the last god knows how many years of this club, hopefully Amorim sorts it out.

And Ruud can get to feck if he thinks playing the same tactic as ETH will yield results. Fecking boring shite

Our players are fecking shit. That's our main issue right now. Anyone thinking Amorim is going to ride into town and fix this shite overnight is deluding themselves.

We're a mid table team at best right now.

Amad has some ability but his lack of bite and physicality limits him, meaning that his passing and decision making has to carry him hard, pretty poor half for him in that regard with a few nice early touches.

Hojlund has been been very poor, just as with last season his instincts of where to be are letting him down, Cas looks far more threatening when he breaks into the box. Ugarte, not seeing the point of him in a game like this, not stopping their breaks and offers very little in a progressive sense.

Amorim leaving a team that scores for fun for a team that couldn’t score in a brothel. He will be an absolute genuis if he can get this team scoring goals on a regular basis.

No pace, no urgency, everything done at a snails pace. It’s the exact opposite of sporting the other night. It’s like I’m watching us play on 0.5 speed.

I don’t know how Amorim is going to get this lot to do anything without putting cocaine into their half time cocoa or something.

We had our "new manager bounce" against Leicester's reserves in the carabao cup, now it's business as usual for these frauds. WTF are we doing at this club? How is this allowed?

So we pretty much need two new wide forwards. Probably a striker too. How much are we talking here?

I like Højlund but he really isn't good enough to lead the line for United right now. You think any centre back pairing is scared coming up against him?
He hasn't got a chance though has he,nobody near him, amad and garnacho both on ythe touchline.bruno either wide left or too deep.

And Ruud can get to feck if he thinks playing the same tactic as ETH will yield results. Fecking boring shite

I really hoped that Ruud had been sitting next to Ten Hag secretly seething about how the team was being sent out to play. Clearly not.

Carrick made more changes from Ole than Ruud has from Erik. Clearly their ideas on football are not too dissimilar.

I am starting to wonder whether we showed more or less intent under Van Gaal. The fact its even a debate is worrying.

The quicker Amorim can come in the better. As for this talk of Ruud staying on. Give over.

That was awful. I stopped watching us after the Villa game but got sucked back in after 'Aggy got fired. Should have continued not watching. This team just makes me angry. Still can't believe we got conned into giving Bruno a new bumper contract. The guy is shit. We are not going to become a good team without proper midfielders who are press resistant and can pass the ball.

My god Amad again, what is he on this pitch for

curious to learn your issue with Amad. Genuine question. The dummy at the end was horrific but he’s been our best player going forward.

Before an earlier post of yours he was looking dangerous in the first 10/15 mins. Should have won a penalty. And since your quit ridiculous claim that every pass was awful…

    Attempted pass 11
    Completed passes 9
    2 successful dribbles
    1 foul conceded
    1 clearance made
    1 tackle completed
    1 terrible dummy

He isn’t our saviour. But he’s easily the best RW at the club

Our players are fecking shit. That's our main issue right now. Anyone thinking Amorim is going to ride into town and fix this shite overnight is deluding themselves.

We're a mid table team at best right now.
    Yeh this

Back in the day this front 3 are on the bench with Ronaldo Rooney Tevez being a first team, and the 'potential' playing in carabao cup. This is simply the sad state our club has become where potential is first team.

In the summer we got rid of some shit players, but we didn't really add any top level players besides Mazraoui.

He's the only player that looks world class on the pitch for us.

Garnacho, Hojlund, Diallo, Bruno, Casemiro, Ugarte, Lindelof, Evans, Dalot and Onana..... Out of them I would say only Mazraoui and Onana are performing as if they're world class.

Evans is probably the 3rd best performer in the starting lineup. That's incredible.

The rest are just average Premier League players. We need to raise the ceiling now with our next signings.

We used to have a front line of Ronaldo, Rooney and Tevez, all of which were unreal players.

We used to have a midfield of Scholes and Carrick who were unreal.

The defensive players we've had before were unreal too. It's no coincidence that when you have unbelievably good players you win matches and leagues.

Someone needs to show Garnacho on the training pitch and iron out his flaws, because there's a lot of them. Every game his passing is wildly inconsistent and it has been since he broke through.

    Good luck to Amorim
