We have no midfield at the moment, the only truly useful and effective player is Fred, so I'm really worried for Ole and the team. We will scrap a win at best, unfortunately I don't see us playing well and a lot of players seem to be not fully fit at the moment.

I wouldn't be overly confident against anyone with the options currently available but Norwich are rubbish, Pukki's out and we're at home.

We have to win this, don't we?

Ironically you replied to a post that was addresses to me!

Random Ole hater triggered by a discussion that involved, you know, talking about replacements rather than solely longing for Ole to be sacked with no successor or handover of the squad.

Fans of the simple minded persuasion simply add pressure on the club that the media thrives on and magnify, rather than stamping feet and polarising the situation try to look further than ‘swap manager’ every season. That’s all I’m saying bud.
Agree to disagree. A change of manager is needed now more than ever. Just put of curiosity...are you a matchgoing fan?

As much as this random person has been arguing with me...no more no less....really bizzarre.

    What?

    It's a forum that's what happens.

You made out he was some random interloper having a pop when you've been having a back and forth with him and this was a continuation of that conversation.

    Yes indeed, good idea.

Former season ticket holder, three young kids under 5yrs, so I only get to OT around 8-10 times a season nowadays. Does that have any baring on opinion?

No man. No bearing whatsoever. Actually visiting OT is a lifelong dream. As of now finances don't permit. Welcoming a baby to the family shortly. How's the general vibe during the games nowadays?

For now I have showed you the error of your grammar. Time will show you and all your unicorn mates the errors of blind faith and supporting a manager more than the club. Till then continue your majestic ride.

The " no manager exists who could have done better than what Ole is doing" theory is a dead horse. See numerous other threads where this theory has been debunked. I can't be arsed to go into the details. You keep believing what you believe, I will keep sticking to what numerous managers have done in numerous leagues with infinitely worse squads, which by the way they have not weakened on their own will.
Who weakened the squad without first getting the replacements in?
Who purchased a dud defender for a world record fee?
Who has not been able to imbibe any degree of cohesion in attack pressing or defence, forget about tactics?
Who comes up with lame ass comedy such " we won the half 1-0" or "Lingzyboi runs a lot and is bubbly"?

Never had we such a charlatan in charge and hopefully never again ever.
It´s of course not impossible to do better with the current squad, but which team above United on the table would you argue have a weaker squad that United? If you before the season started, were told that Pogba would not be playing, which position would you have guessed United to be in come January? I think most people would have said mid table.

Calling Maguire a dud defender, btw, is pretty lame. And talking about tactics, it´s just a few weeks ago since Ole - in all tactical analysis - were said to have "outsmarted" Guardiola, where United easily could have been up 3-4 null after first half. Well, you could say it´s 1-1 now. While Ole vs Lampard is 2-0. Ole vs Mourinho 1-0, Ole vs Rodgers 1-0.

All the tactical talk is a bit silly, anyway, as every lost football match is - in the eyes of the fans and pundits - a tactical loss - like there were so such things as quality players, margins, bad referees, luck or VAR (and don´t pretend that I´m saying this is why City totally outplayed United first half at OT).

And I for one, agree with the approach to getting in players who really want to bleed for the shirt - no more quick fixes. And that might imply that things need to get worse, before it gets better - just like G. Neville pointed out at the start of the season.

Pretty grim stat here backs that up.

Assuming those stats are accurate, wow.

We've been playing zombie possession passings away from the opp box majority of the time, so it's not too surprising.

    Who's the first?

No idea sorry and I can't find anywhere that publishes this type of stat per player me.

There's a load of jokers on Twitter claiming it's Lingard.

There is a key difference here, I’m not saying there are not better managers, what I’m saying is there are not any available managers that would have guaranteed top four or even challenged for trophies - which is what some here seem to expect from this season.

We’ve tried and tested two top level managers and both went to shite, there is something above the managers position that is ultimately undermining the benefit the position can bring.
Yeah we've tried top class managers so let's try our luck with someone shit instead!

Yeah but he doesn't show enough passion, spirit, desire and hunger, so get him out! :wenger:

Must be James right? Rashford should have more too, but he often dribbles rather than make those kinds of passes when he should.

That’s not what I’m saying, for fear of making it painfully obvious what I am saying is that changing manager once every 12 months will not get us out of this mess.

Any new manager will need multiple transfer windows. Except by the time their second summer transfer window happens most in here will want him out already. And so the cycle continues.

Imagine having Lindelof and Jones as your only fit options at center-back, one is prone to error and the other one's leg could fall off at any given moment.

We'll win 4-0 though because yes.

Was going to this one, but got ill late on.
Sod's law hopefully means we'll pulverise them 4-0, whereas if I'd gone it'd have been 1-1

    Provisional squad confirmed by MEN.

    David de Gea, Lee Grant

Diogo Dalot, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, Brandon Williams

    Andreas Pereira, Fred, Nemanja Matic

Juan Mata, Tahith Chong, Angel Gomes, Daniel James, Anthony Martial, Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford.

Phil Jones and Sergio Romero were not spotted by photographers but are likely to be included.

    4-1 win.

Norwich couldn't handle your forwards at Carrow Road. Didn't you miss two penalties in that game on top of the three you scored? You went into that match in much worse form than you are now and they're missing Pukki.

Seems Norwich back up forward is out aswell so they'll either play the young lad who scored a few goals at Preston or go false 9 given the damage Man. City did.

    no Young...

As awful as the Jones/Lindelof pairing was vs City I'd still use it again and not risk Maguire. I'd also give Williams another start as we should be on the offensive for most of the game and he offers more than Shaw in that regard.

Norwich haven't won since 23rd November. We simply cannot lose to them, can we?
You just jinxed us. Whenever a game like this comes when an opposition has not scored or not won for certain games, we end up giving them the goals and points.

Our first team is quite likeable, especially with the introduction of Williams, Greenwood etc. but our squad depth is so weak I generally dislike the team. I don't want to even see players like Lingard, Lindelof, Mata, Matic, Jones, Shaw, Rojo anymore, even Pereira and Dalot rubs me wrong at the moment. It feels like just a waste of time when these guys play, but we have to play some of them. It shouldn't be like this, it is not fair on the youngsters coming into the squad and not on the fans.

Not even fair on a guy like Lingard, he has proved himself incapable of producing for a whole year. Not sure he'd start for a team like Crystal Palace. It is unfair on everyone and makes it impossible for Ole to sustain any form or build a winning mentality. We need to sort this mess out quickly.

We should, and will I reckon, this game quite easily. We always seems to put up a decent to good performance after the bad ones.

    DDG
    AWB Lindelöf Maguire Shaw
    Fred Matic
    Pereira
    James Martial Rashford

No way Young is playing in this one and I think Shaw will get the chance ahead of Williams, even if I would prefer the younger one at home against a "lesser" team. I would play Greenwood ahead of James too, but I think Ole is going to start James.

    4-0 (Martial x2, Rashford, Maguire)

This looks perfect for the game. Really hope we give Maguire a rest, he really needs and deserves it and I'm sure we can handle this Norwich team which is basically without a CF.

You should win this comfortably. Pukki is out, Norwich are awful and can’t defend so I’m predicting a 3-0 win
