We didn't have the funds. Mctominay had to leave to free up a transfer for another midfielder. I'm glad Mctominay is gone though, he was never good enough

Maybe not but it’s a consistent theme in our decision making. We don’t do basics well enough.

Sometimes all you need is to work the ball down field and win a corner or throw but we’ll make a terrible attempt at crossing which goes to the goalie or for a goal kick and then the pressure is off.

A little while ago Martinez instead of passing down the line to Dalot over hit an attempt to put it over the defence.

Sometimes just playing the percentages is the better choice. It’s how Newcastle end up with their first goal from a deflected cross. You just try to put into dangerous areas.
