Is Wan Bissaka or Dalot going to start this one? What do we think?
Tough one. You'd think AWB would be better suited to handling a player like ASM, but on the other hand Newcastle play quite a low block, so maybe Dalot would be better suited to help break them down.

It's going to be Dalot, of course. Some players have to be changed from Thursday night and Dalot coming in is an obvious move.

BBCs crescendo of Newcastle coverage stretching back to the quarterfinals is coming to a head. This afternoon we have had the legendary Shay Given, lauding the Karius redemption arc story which is imminent, and given us half an hour justification why Newcastle deserve the victory.

Elsewhere plucky little Saudi Arabia FC are being characterised as a kind of modern Oliver Twist style club, making history against some nameless behemoth who are only in this story to present a villain to overcome.

I guess. It's just not a big deal of a trophy. Named after some gross corner shop energy drink I never heard of. I'll enjoy the game but 3 points at Anfield mean more.

Baffling. This club is about winning. We need to get back to winning trophies. It’s a massive game.

Ffs come on lads, gotta win this. Really gotta start strong and just batter them in the first fifteen, quieten their fans and get the game won.

Haha yea talksport has been like that for days

    United 'leaked' XI

There is also a 'leaked' United XI ahead of kick-off, with official team news expected in half an hour. As always this is not confirmed and could change.

United 'leaked' XI: De Gea, Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Shaw, Fred, Casemiro, Fernandes, Antony, Rashford, Weghorst

Yep exactly, I just can't understand people with that attitude, you'd swear we were winning league titles and UCL every season for the past few years or something still.

Personally doesn't bother me. UCL and EPL are what matters. The rest is noise. But i enjoy any game where both sides are taking it seriously. If players need it as a pychological boost then that's good too.
    What does that actually mean?

We take part in a number of competitions season in, season out, all of which are 'proper' trophies to be won. The idea that only two matter and that the Europa League, FA Cup, League Cup, etc, are 'noise' is a weird attitude that I don't even understand. What's just 'noise' about the major domestic cups, or the second biggest European competition?

Some people are just unbelievably entitled it seems. Thankfully our manager and players don't have the same attitude.

How Wout still plays is beyond me. He is awful

Agreed. Newcastle are the team that conceded the least amount of goals in the Premier League by far this season so we'll need more in attack and Dalot is the right choice for me too. I also think instead of being concerned about stopping ASM we should focus on our game more.

It's going to be Dalot, of course. Some players have to be changed from Thursday night and Dalot coming in is an obvious move.

I think Dalot for AWB will be the only change from Barcelona game. Maybe Antony for Sancho too but that should be it.

I hope today is the day Weghorst shows us what ETH sees.
I thought it was clear already, Ten Hag values his work rate, he can press and he's generally annoying to play against. He's playing the Fellaini role without the elbows. He did well at Camp Nou but because he didn't replicate that in the 2nd leg, people automatically think he's shite.

This is the only thing I really like about Mou as a manager he never downplayed any trophy. His view was that getting to a final in it self was pretty hard and winning it was even harder. Absolute bullshit that a trophy isn't something to cherish.

    Doesn't matter really does it.

If he is doing what EtH asks of him then what we think is irrelevant.
Yep fair point. He has a specific task.

I don't think he's shite. He just slows the game down and we saw the difference at Camp Nou when he was subbed. Slowing the game down isn't necessarily a bad thing and each opponent needs a different type of play. It all depends on what type of play ETH wants for this particular game. It's either fast fast attack or a tactical much slower game.
