Although, Lindelof is a tad more justified since Bailly has been out for a while and played 90 mins on thursday.A bit of a worrying line up against a deep, packed defence. Getting the first goal early for once would be such a help.
Nothing Ole could do, with, presumably, all the absentees being injured. Other than maybe Greenwood for James, it's not the choice of subs / starters that's the issue. But we've lost our goals and creativity from CM without Pogba, McTominay and VdB; and our main aerial and penalty box threat without Cavani.
Newcastle won't play into our pacy front three's hands like Sociedad did. If we can get an early goal it'll take the pressure off. But even if we have a one goal lead, I can't see Newcastle pushing up until very late on.

Lots of 'low block' experts here. Saying we struggle against it but are asking for basically the same line up that played in those games we struggled in.
VDB never plays anyway, and nobody expected Pogba to play since he was already out. But some of the decisions are odd, like Greenwood being dropped after playing well, even though Martial has been gash for ages. And it should be obvious but James against a team that sits deep is about as useful as a marshmallow dildo.
Reckon based on that Mason Henderson and bailly should have started and then the others could have come in for the second leg which is already done

I don't know all the players but kagawa must be on that list. Not that he was the shittiest but from the modern players I guess he would be.For those complaining about Martial, he's only started one of the last four PL and EL matches. He was always likely to start this one.
