    This thread is am embarrassment.
"Supporters" trembling and bowing to the mighty City.
Too many football spectators (I'm not saying fans, because nothing suggests you are fans) became know-it-alls.

It's football. Anything can change with a kick of the ball. Nothing is granted, nothing is certain.
Support your team and hope for the best.

Don't be such a pathetic "oh no they'll smash us" crowd.

We are the fecking Manchester United for fecks sake!

Let's go and get a great result
My hat goes off to you.

Can you get whatever it is you’re on over the counter?

We beat them last season at OT it’s not like an impossible task

We were in great form and it took a slice of luck to do it. They completely dominated us - we had 29% possession at home. Wolves managed more a few weeks ago.

    -------------------Onana
    Dalot--Varane--Maguire--Reguilon
    ---------Casemiro--Amrabat
    Antony-------Bruno---Rashford
    ------------------Hojlund

    Eriksen for Bruno.
    Garnacho for Rashford.
    Mount for Antony.

EtH is not dropping Bruno. Not in a game where the counter attack would probably be our most potent approach. We most definitely can't afford to continue the trend of completely giving away the first half in this one. Against a team like City, that could be suicidal.

I actually understand EtH not starting Eriksen, as I feel when he comes on later in the game, his lack of physicality is balanced out by the opponents not being fresh. EtH needs to find a way to play a balanced, capable midfield before that 60 min mark though.

I would actually prefer he went with one of the kids (Hannibal/Mainoo), but that's understandably unlikely.
A realistic option I feel could work is if he plays Casemiro (tells him to keep things simple like the Madrid version who wasn't trying to be Bruno the Second but focused on a pure number 6 role) and Amrabat as a double pivot behind Bruno, then we have a chance, and we can afford Bruno's high stakes approach, which as I mentioned, could be useful playing on the counter.

For the love of God, please play a sensible team (say this every week).

    --------------------Onana---------------
    Dalot-----Varane----Maguire---Reguilon
    ----------Amrabat------Mctom------------
    Anthony--------Eriksen--------Garnacho
    ----------------------Hojlund--------------------

Right now that's our best team and I don't even think it's up for debate.

Fully expect Bruno and Rashford to start and then us to all be amazed how bad we are though.

Maybe Casemiro for McT but tend to agree.

In Manchester United supporters forum, I'm getting insulted for supporting Manchester United.
    Wow.

I prefer my "brain damage" - being optimistic, rooting for United and enjoying the fact that I get to watch my favourite team play every week.
If your perfectly functioning brains only allow you to sulk, complain and insult... Enjoy it.

I refuse to get dragged into this pool of negativity.

I wouldn't be surprised if we turned the Berties over on Sunday. That's how fecked up we are at the moment.

I don’t see it being as pathetic as the last game at OT under Ole but it’s very difficult to see how we don’t lose.

For some inexblicable reason, I think we will win this and Højlund will have an excellent game!

    Genuinely worried about this one.

Im just praying its not a complete hammering

Imagine it’s 1999, and we’re looking through a crystal ball into the year 2023. These comments on how we will crumble against City will be a shock to the system.

I'm not sure about this, City have hardly hit stride as they don't until mid season or so. I just think United are front runners a term in boxing to describe a fighter who's everything for 6 rounds than gasses out due to mentality, fatigue or focus just in footballing terms with United it's the opening 25 mins.

I think the team have to be more adventurous, being pragmatic against City turns it into a when they score compared vs if they score. Almost a guarantee that if there's not a double pivot midfield it will potentially be a hammering.

City will win, but havent been their usual selves, so cant see a cricket score as in 6/7 goals. 0-3 all in first half.

    Onana
    Dalot - Varane - Maguire - Reguilon
    Casemiro - Amrabat
    Bruno - Eriksen - Rashford
    Højlund

Something like that. Bruno hasn't been playing well, but he is the captain and can deliver in big games. Rashford is similar - great record in big games, and we need the pace in behind. I feel like Eriksen deserves a start, and he is the only one that can bring some calm and maybe make us keep possession a bit. He can be subbed for McTominay if the game becomes more end to end. Antony needs to be benched.

It will be a case of digging in and hitting on the counter. I don’t see any other setup working and it actually plays to our strengths right now. 1-0 united.

Thank you, I was starting to think there was no hope in this thread, embarrassing posts.

    I am going 2:1 United!

IF we win, we'll be 3 points behind City. How the feck has that happened

City have lost their last two away Premier league matches and beat Sheffield United with the winner arriving in the 88th minute.

United receiving almighty trimming as some have predicted on here will say a lot more about United than it will City.

There's absolutely nothing to suggest we'll win, we almost look at our lowest under Ten Hag, but here's to hoping a miracle happens.

Maguire was the hero yesterday, but I fear he can't keep up with the quick passes from City.

Sometimes Pep/City seem to take pity on us rather than going for the jugular - hopefully it'll be one of those days.

Only when they are comfortably top. They are chasing at the moment :nervous:

our attack will look undeniably better with all the space that will be available, so we might respond with a goal when we're inevitably 2-3 goals down. I worry we will be pushed back to defend most of the time.

    Think ETH will go with

    Onana
    Dalot Varane Maguire Reguilon
    Casemiro
    Bruno Eriksen
    Antony Hojlund Rashford

Im really not looking forward to Sundays game at all, given how awful and uninspired weve been in our last to games I struggle to see anyway we can get anything from this match.
