They will probably score three goals from their first three attacks. Not looking forward to this at all.

ETH telling us they've been talking abut tactiss... spot it all going out the window inside the first eight minutes

Starting Evans and Lindelof at LB for tactical reasons....

Even if it's a back 5 why the feck would you not play Varane and Reguilon in it? Reguilon is more suited to being a wing back.

This is going to be an utterly miserable game to watch whether we lose 3-0 or 13-0.

How do you spend so much money and end up with a lineup like that?

It'd take Fergie magic to get a tune out of that lot and even he struggled a lot of the time v City once their money came in.

Just said it: "So Evans over Varane on tactics"?
    Ten Hag: "Exactly".

For some reason he has depressively been digging his grave since the beginning of the season and he is continuing to dig.

The reverse fixture is in March. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if this ETH's last Manchester Derby. That starting line up has deflated me more than a little.

I mean, Casemiro, Shaw and Martinez are injured. And presume Varane is semi fit if anyone could possibly think any of that baxk 4 start over him.

But you do wonder how the hell we constantly spend more than anyone and end up with this sort of lineup in general.

Also why the feck is Rashford starting again over Antony? At least he'd work hard and carry the ball forward a bit.

£140m of ETH first choice signings sat on the bench in the biggest game of the season so far. Nice going Erik.

Lindelöf-Maguire-Evans in a back 4 & Bruno on RW against City while Varane, Garnacho, Antony & Reguilon sitting on the bench :wenger:

I'm sure this guy wants to get humiliated and sacked to get out of this mess he created. Awful awful line up.

Square pegs round holes line up.

Either a tactical masterclass or a trouncing incoming.

An early goal against could make it a really miserable slog of a game.
Our whole chance will be based on some epic defence and Rashy remembering he used to be quite a threat.

The decision to not buy a top class CB was insane. Everyone involved in our summer transfer decisions needs to go, EtH included.

Our game plan is basically going yo be pinging passes over the top to rashford and hojland

That City lineup  . Pep woke up today and chose violence.

Christ, I hope he's got some masterplan with this, otherwise it won't be pretty after the match.

It’s a straight back 4, they are warming up that way.

Well I don’t understand that line up one bit then. He’s just said it’s tactical to leave Varane and Reg out. Then Bruno is on the right where he’s notoriously shite.

City that confident they‘ve gone with a front 5

The tactics for Evans starting is probably that Maguire is better at RCB

Doesn't trust Reguilon at LB so has to play Lindelof there.

I mean christ, if he's going to play low block we could have started with a back 5... Dalot-Maguire-Varane-Lindelof-Reguilon. At least that makes best use of our available defenders.

For victory to be within reach today, we will need massive fortune on our side. Refereeing, injuries, or a deflection or two...but based on what we see in the starting lineups this likely looks like a hammering no less decisive than William General Tecumseh Sherman marching to Atlanta.

Mount was signed to be on the bench for these big games

I’m just glad we made Mason Mount our priority signing this summer for occasions like this. I’m glad the manager and club spent all that money on a player we clearly need. Yep.

£400m later and we have a team starting against treble winners City that consists of Jonny Evans, Harry Maguire, Lindelof and Scott fecking McTominay. It beggars belief, it really does
