I'm so hyped for this that I've only had about 4 hours kip so I suppose if United lose, I'll be off straight back to bed for the rest of the day.

But that ain't happening. No way we're losing today. We're beating them for sure and I just hope that Fulham and Tottenham have read the same memo.

Seen a tweet that the rumoured city side is

    Ederson
    Walker - Akanji - Ake - Cancelo
    Rodri - Bernardo
    Mahrez - KdB - Foden
    Haaland

We can get in behind Ake/Cancelo.

Excited, nervous, pessimistic, optimistic. How can I be all these things :nervous:.

    Cmon the reds.

Nervous as feck. Worried it will be another autopsy at the end of the game.

Is it because of the way it ended up when we went to Etihad in October?

People need to remove that from their minds if that's the case. Went into that not having played in 2 weeks because of the international break and that was off of having 2 matches postponed which didn't help with the team building. . Casemiro and Shaw didn't even start. Varane went out injured early in the match. Rashford wasn't in the form he is in now.

Same. Feels like a big one. But I will still have full faith in our project now if we lose.

good times are ahead for ETH’s reds HUHHHHH

"When you see commitment without the ball... always I had the feeling that the strength and quality of Man United was always there," he said. "When I arrived, there was Lukaku, Pogba, top players everywhere in every season.
"It's not just City spend a lot of money in this league. United do what they have done. All the time they have been top class teams, it's just a question of being settled, patient and supporting the manager unconditionally.
"United is playing now how they play all their history. I said a few months ago that United is back. People say they're not. They're back. I knew it, I felt it. When I say I think Erik represents our job as managers in the best way.
"He is incredibly well educated, his work ethic, his success in Ajax. The way they're playing. I'm not a big fan for United honestly but the success is fine, it's good. He deserves it, he's doing really well and it will be a good game tomorrow to prove ourselves."

    DDG
    Elanga - Lindelof - Casemiro - Shaw
    Fred - Fernandes
    Antony - Garnacho - Rashford
    Martial

    ETH has lost the plot

Same. I'm swinging between all those feelings. Just hope City don't hit form today like they did in previous meeting where they played out of their skin.

City took United to the cleaners in October

City took United to the cleaners in October and it was hardly a surprise when United did not have a specialist defensive midfielder on the pitch. To compound matters, the wingers deserted their full-backs. Fred’s surprisingly early withdrawal against Charlton was potentially telling. He was one of United’s best players in midweek and if United were to start Casemiro, Fred and Eriksen they have a 6, an 8 and a 10. The caveat is Fernandes gets relocated and when that has happened it hasn’t worked. Then he moves infield again and is effective.

    Martial

    ETH has lost the plot

nah i think it will be Martial in nr. 10 role, Garnacho on the left und Rashy up top. Surprised about Elanaga at RB but I assume his speed will be helpful against Foden.

Those are the emotions of a true Manchester United supporter. Heart stopping one second and elation the next.

ETH might not want to play Rashford vs Walker since Walker has the pace to match Rashford. He might be tempted to play Rashford through the middle against slower CBs and pit the trickier Garnacho against Walker.

I am sure that EtH has been thinking about this game for some time and will have formulated a strategy and tactics. But I am still a bundle of nerves.

Just want us fans to not lose our shit if we lose tomorrow. It’s not a “test of our progress”, it’s a 90 minute game that can always go either way. Our league position and cup performances ultimately determine how we’re doing.
Of course a portion of the forum will lose their minds. And it's always the same one's.

It does, Liverpool. City are still only semi relevant

Yep, and the fact there are quite a lot of United fans (particularly those who have legacy hatred of Arsenal and/or grew up with a bunch of Arsenal fans) who would rather see City win the league than Arsenal

    Expect nothing..
City and Liverpool games are the ones where I dont expect anything from us at the moment.. we have to go up a level or two before I can start enjoying these games.

Key thing here is not letting them get a fast start.

Amount of times they blow us out the park in first 5 minutes or so. We need to get into the game or make fast start ourselves.

Yep, find myself in this bracket. I don’t care if City win it again, they’ll be forgotten and irrelevant in a few years anyway. It’s like PSG, no one gives a feck about them.

Hard to be optimistic with the way they have dominanted us recently.
