That makes sense, cheers. Was reading he was ill during the week and that's why he was left out.

Crocked again.What's up with Cavani?
Agree with everything Michael Owen has said in the pre match coverage. It’s shocking, how despite our spending, we’re still in a position that City are overwhelming favourites and are expected to have 75% of the ball. I don’t care what the result is. This can only be fixed with a world class manager.
Agreed. The sooner Ole is sacked the better. People turned their noses up on here at the thought of Conte or Allegri because they are defensive coaches when Solskjaer is far far more negative than either.
Yh it’s basically where we were 3 years ago but now with loads of new players. City haven’t been amazing this year, we might actually be able to get something but this way of approaching games with good teams surely was never the long term plan.Yes, it would be nice to know when this plan of sitting deep, having 25% of the ball and hoping to hit big sides on the break, might actually come to an end. It made sense a few years ago when our squad was poor and confidence was low, but this was supposed to be the season when we started taking the game to the opposition a bit more in big games. I guess Liverpool has ended any hope of that.
We've pulled some unexpected results out of the bag against City and with no Varane, Pogba, Rashford, or Cavani, this will be seriously unexpected. Shitting it.
I'm not sure we'll be winning the ball high up the pitch with Ronaldo and Greenwood. And neither has the pace of Rashford either... it's going to be tough. The entire purpose of the team is to be aggressive and win the ball high up the pitch, we’re not aiming for 60% possession
Sorry but Greenwood’s hold up play is on another level compared to Rashford. He’s actually able to control the ball and retain possession. In the few games he played as a CF at at the start of the season he was great with his back to goal and overall he’s just much more of a striker than Rashford. I agree in terms of runs in behind but that’s irrelevant if Rashford can’t retain the ball in general play.Greenwood’s even worse at it. Also doesn’t make those dangerous runs that Rashford is so good at. Marcus out is such a big blow to the way Ole plays. Hopefully Ronnie and Greenwood can play well together as a strikeforce.
So we have a half fit Lindelof and Maguire. What could go wrong?
I had these superstitions of not posting in match day thread before the match or select squad. Thought It'd bring bad result. But then we are playing shitty anyway so I had let go and now just endure from distance.Don't watch United with undivided attention these days, it's depressing. Distract yourself with a podcast or some music and you won't suffer as much. Thank me later.
Exactly, people complain about going 5 at the back, we've got no other option, we have to play the team and tactics that is most likely to get us a result. What’s the alternative against top teams when we play Ronaldo up top?
Rashfords defensive contribution, both in terms of pressing high up the pitch and actually helping his fullback is close to 0, same goes for Greenwood. Play all three together against top teams and we’ll get Liverpool’d
that’s the most laughable.Don’t hire Conte because he plays 3-5-2 they said
Phil Jones could have been on the benchSo we have a half fit Lindelof and Maguire. What could go wrong?
To be honest, Ole don’t play 3-5-2 but 5-3-2, he has 2 fullbacksremember when people said no to conte because he plays 3-5-2
I don’t see us getting many shots on target. Not a lot of counterattack ability in that side.
Really? So Rashford is well enough for the bench, but not well enough to start?
If he isn't well, he should be in the matchday squad. If he's in the matchday squad he's well enough to play, and so, the conclusion is that he is being rotated with Greenwood. Simple as that.
If we do that, we will suffer an heavy defeat.I’m hoping and praying for an early City goal to force a change away from this ultra negative setup.
We have the attacking talent to beat City ffs!!!!
I'd say it's 7-1-2.To be honest, Ole don’t play 3-5-2 but 5-3-2, he has 2 fullbacks
