Should have kept Bailly I guess but overall just as strong as it can get.

After experience Bailly, seeing Lindelof back makes me worry, even though he has been okay, but I can just see him costing us a goal tonight. Hopefully not, he will be The Iceman we've always needed!

The diamond again! Makes me nervous as we never control the game when playing in this formation.

Lindelof starting over Bailly is just daft to me but oh well, I'd have just had Lindelof play at the weekend.

Ole can't possibly think his best pairing is Lindelof and Maguire still?
    Wrap him up for Anfield.

Weird one throwing Lindelof straight back into a game of this intensity after his injury.

    Looks like the diamond again.

Ole clearly wants to win this one with that team. Still, I prefer Bailly over Lindelof based on recent performances.

I went for Bailly. Thought he deserved to keep his place. Also went for Telles but happy enough with that team

I suspect McTom was carrying an injury against Villa. Really need him to step it up today.
Thought Bailly would play. Ole maybe prefers Lindelof in our strongest 11.

Strange to see Bailly back to the bench. Thought it would make sense to keep the same combination today and then play Lindelof and Tuanzebe in the FA Cup (which would probably be a better combination than Bailly/Tuanzebe). Although I guess it's likely we'll just play Maguire in that one again anyway and play Tuanzebe at rightback.

    City team:
    XI :
Steffen, Cancelo, Stones, Dias, Zinchenko, Fernandinho (C), Gundogan, De Bruyne, Mahrez, Foden, Sterling

    SUBS :
Trafford, Walker, Jesus, Aguero, Rodrigo, Mendy, Nmecha, Harwood-Bellis, Mbete

Very strong lineup. It’s ok to see Bailly rested - maybe a precaution.

Mctominay was poor last outing, but when he's paired with Fred they usually deliver the goods.

Just hope that Tony and Marcus don't waste too many chances. We need to be clinical tonight.

Bailly should have started here, his presence at the back changes the whole team and allows us to push up with a high line.

Rest of the team looks decent though

Hopefully their back up goalie makes a sub appearance. It would be good for Trafford to make his debut at Old Trafford

I would have kept an unchanged team than bringing in Lindelof, Henderson for Bailly, DeGea.

Pep excuses was a lot of hot air as expected they name a very strong team.

    Steffen,
Cancelo, Stones, Dias, Zinchenko, Fernandinho Gundogan, De Bruyne, Mahrez, Foden, Sterling

And Walker, Jesus, Aguero etc on the bench.

Good team from Ole. Cant be blamed if our players don't step up. This should b a good victory for us.

Time for players to step up. And hope the defense and keeper don't make any silly mistakes.

It's not a diamond. Don't know why people keep saying it is or was on the weekend. it's a 4231 with Pogba on the left. It becomes a diamond when we are pressing high , but shifts backs to a 4231 when we drop into the opponents half. It's a hybrid formation. For the most part, in attack, its a 4231.

Wasn't expecting Bailly to be rested but it does make sense given his injury record. Very happy with the selection and expecting a win. Let's do it!

Bailly needs managing before he breaks again so I get that change

You don't think it's a diamond? You reckon it's Pogba wide left?

Pogba, Bruno, Rashford and Martial interchanging?

At least that would be original, not overly functional though?

Pogba will roam between left and middle, Bruno will roam between middle and right, martial and rashford will also take turns out wide and centre forward. Mcfred will provide the screen. Same as how we were against Villa

Good, strong lineup. Fred and McT will provide a solid base, Pogba and Bruno should provide enough out balls for the counter and Rashford on the right means he won't be able to cut in for the shot, but will be able to aim at the far corner while making inside runs.

Would have preferred Bailly to get rested in the Watford match, but the team is fine regardless. Though I am hoping that Bailly has been 'rested' and not 'dropped'.

    Henderson
    Wan-Bissaka - Lindelof - Maguire - Shaw
    McTominay - Fred
    Bruno - Pogba
    Martial - Rashford

    Or maybe:

    -------------------------- Henderson -----------------------
    Wan-Bissaka - Lindelof - Maguire - Shaw
    -------------------- McTominay - Fred ------------------
    -------------- Rashford - Bruno - Pogba ------------
    -------------------------- Martial -----------------------------

    ...like the Villa game.
