I really like to see Martial state. Shot on goal per goal, goals ratio, distance cover, ball win back, dribbling versus top 6 teams strikers. I still don't know why Ole thinks he is a striker for Utd?!!!
He was very good last season, especially in 2020 so I got Ole hoping he could kick on yo another level but he's regressed again which means we will surely be looking for a striker, we should've just done whatever it took to get Haaland last January.

Thought the first half was quite even, but the second they've been much better.

    Ole's game management wasn't great

Why doesn't he like making subs?

Shouldve changed it up earlier. He has a few options. Its scary how absolutely fecking clueless he is at times.
it's why I haven;t budged from my opinion (despite recent results) that he isn't good enough for United

I wish we could outsource substitutions to somebody else, like, an intern or something. Get them to do it. Somebody.

We weren't at the races today. City get their compulsory set piece goal against us and then we're chasing the game.

Thought we played well but city clicked into higher gear unfortunately

VDB, brought on for 5 minutes at the end of a game that’s lost when everyone on the pitch is deflated. Then we’ll get told how he’s shit and doesn’t bring anything to the game because he didn’t inspire the comeback.
Ole needs to be looking at the team his picked to start to hand out a few brickbats, not lads brought on far too late. He bangs on about us winning trophies, yet this is the fourth semi final he has got wrong.

Ueah, its been an inbetween matchup. Different day this peters out to 0-0 as it did last month.
Ah well, its only the Carabao cup. No need for too much criticism imo

Criticism i feel is apt and deserved but certainly not something to blow the lid off for. League is where its at, as nice as winning this little cup would be it doesn't really prove much for this team imo.

This annoys me the most. Today is only carabao cup, tomorrow will be "it is only FA cup" then Europa league...
Both teams played with best 11. That shows that clubs want this trophy. As it should be

Good goal. But I think we've played well against a very good side, improving is the plus cup games are not our cup of tea. You got to give the city side a lot of praise. Not that I like to . Not our day again. Let's take it out on Burnley and the scum scousers.
A game of missed chances for us. They have taken theirs and we haven’t, I think we were better in the first half and they had a good spell for the first 15 minutes of the second and then pretty even since then. Not bad by any stretch.

We conceded two soft goals from set pieces.

You could also say we never looked close to scoring. Comprehensively the worse side. Game plan didn't work, and our passing was sloppy as feck. No hold up play, decision making in the final third poor, and lacking focus during set pieces, at both ends.

I'm not sure they've had to turn it up a gear all evening.

from the first minute of the second half, it was pretty obvious City would win. what the hell did Ole say at half time?

Was never even, city were running rings around us. It was clear a change of players or system was needed at HT but predictablly Ole did neither

Think its more of a issues of quality. City have better players than us, by some distance too.
In key positions, and they keep the ball better. That was evidenced by their performance at Chelsea.

    KDB doesn't waste passes

Yep. You'd certainly prefer that from Shaw than our boys watching Herrera being carried off by a stumpy little prat like Noble without any word.

I've laughed as much as anybody at that clip of Jordan Henderson staring someone out as it looks so weird and funny, but a few hard man antics here and there are fine, particularly if you're sticking up for a teammate like Shaw was.

This match has just got away from us. I was happy to be in it for as long as we were, small-time though that sounds, but we've been second best and have much still to learn about managing big games.

This Ruben Dias is a cnut hes got in the way of everything
