I would rather have Matic for McT. He plays between the CBs, the FBs can play higher and Fred gives pressure with Pogba giving passing range.

But, I'm cool with that formation.

Strange to see Bailly dropped but assume Ole is managing his fitness. Pleased Henderson plays - a big night for that lad.

I don't think so. Unless we play a back 5 against Watford because Maguire will 100% play.

We beat Manchester City 3 times in 2019/2020 with this setup. We're doing ourselves a disservice by pretending this isn't going to work because one CB isn't The Flash. We have evidence it does.

I appreciate your point Tom, but this is a chance to get to a final. The players have had pretty much 5 days to recover, and I don't expect Bailly, or many of this team, to play against Watford, they would then have another 5 full days before Burnley.
To me, bringing Lindelof back encourages AWB to stay tighter to the CB, thereby leaving space at the far post to be exploited, with Bailly there, AWB stays wider as he hasn't got to cover the CB, Bailly having the pace to recover, and also cover when AWB moves forward.
I think that one change disrupts the whole defensive set up.

I heard Ole say in his prematch interview that he felt Maguire and Lindelof have played well together against City so he wanted to keep that partnership going here. I think its a fair decision that he will have to stand behind, whether it back fires or not.
