Fellaini has been winning most of his aerial battles today. Glorious stuff.

    And Young too.

What a change from last year. What a change.

It goes to show that all some players need is a chance. Many on here were shouting for him and Young to be sold. At the end of the day it's all down to the manager to put faith in the players. I remember one manager saying he'd never drop a player if he's doing well in training but playing badly in games.

It's shocking how badly Mata and Fellaini were mismanaged by Moyes. Fellaini was from Everton too, that's just shocking. Credit to LVG for bringing the best out of both.

So far so good, need to keep the level of intensity we finished the half with in to the second. There is more goals in this game I feel though.

Man gala coming on for Kompany. Bizarre substitution for city and I'm not complaining even though Kompany would have picked up a red - don't rate Mangala at all.

He has been much better since his shambolic start to be fair. Was probably a smart move from them.

Kompany was a doubt for this game initially I think. And I'm almost certain I saw him checking his hamstring near the end of the half, think just after the 'tackle'? Him being on a yellow and potentially carrying an injury makes it a no brainer

The usual in depth analysis, feck off SKY.

Their dissatisfaction that we'd scored...you could hear the agony in their voices. 'He's gotta back into him, he can't let him get in front of him' They really need to have Yorkie or Ole in the studio on days like this. A Scouse legend and a City legend as pundits..? May as well give Gerrard a guest appearance!

City to fly out the blocks second half, need to sustain them in the first 15mins or so. Valencia and Jones look dodgy. Hope they don't cost us

LvG have made great use of Young, Valencia, Smalling, Fellaini and Valencia. Funny since I wanted them all gone last season..

Start to the 2nd half is going to be important.. If we can hold off their push, we can go for it at the end with Di Maria coming on vs tired legs. I'm very sure that players are going to be knacered by the 65th-70th minute

It's glorious that Kompany has been bleating to the press this entire week about the game and now captain kangaroo is being subbed at half time for being reckless and shit. Fantastic stuff.

That's what makes me laugh. Moyes already had Fellaini as a player for years and he almost destroyed his career.

Bit unfair to Fellaini and Young
Very close between those three (for the first half) but I would go for Young. A goal and an assist, hard to argue against it. Fellaini on the other side won everything in the air and scored a goal, while Ander is running the midfield and schooling City players every time they're near him.

Awful start but we grew into the game. Kompany should have been sent off but to be fair to Clattenberg he consulted his Linesman and he was told it was a yellow, City have taken him off at half time now to stop him being sent.

We CANNOT afford to start the 2nd half like we did the 1st. come on lads!

    Substitution for Manchester City

Half-time change, Kompany replaced by Mangala. Looks like his injury has flared up.
Fellaini has been absymal before his goal, I wouldn't call him best player on the pitch. Herrera and Young has been great, De Gea of course too.
