City's goal was excellent too, when they turn it up they play some scary football, I'm loving the interplay between our midfield though, Fellaini has been very good

Phil Jones scares the shit out of me his positioning has been hurrendous at times leaving smalling 1 on 1 with aguero too many times.

Apart from that though after the early wobble we've settled well. I think Di Maria could come into this for mata and rip them apart

Toure, and Silva given up! Games ours to lose!

HALF TIME THOUGHT: If Rooney would have made that Kompany challenge would he still be on the pitch?

Obviously not as the narrative is already written that he'd have lost his cool. Kompany is apparently an amazing defender so he gets the benefit of the doubt.

    United of old.

Still there to lose, however. Would be stupidiy to count City out. Good half, though.

Also, should we win and correct me if I'm wrong, but it would mark our first win from behind since SAF, barring one game against Hull under Moyes.

What a half! Must be great for the neutrals. Great advertisement for football. There's a bit of everything. Hard tackles, created chances, yellow cards - everything. Just hope we can come out on top at the end.

it was not malicious....think that was why it was yellow....

but he will be off...you can smell it....

Absolutely, that one could have gone either way so any mistimed tackle at all and he has to go. I would bring Di Maria on for Mata and tell him just to run at Kompany for 45 mins.

I just know City are going to come out flying in the second half. Their old farts were looking knackered towards the end of the half but after the rest they are going to press us heavily again.

I really hope they switch to a 442 at some point. It could help us out giving out midfield some more space.

The first half was a tale of two halves though. We started really shite but we played some good stuff when we got in too the game a bit more.

Carrick, Young, Fellaini and Herrera have been brilliant. The defense on the other hand...

hate all this 'it ruins the match' reaction to red cards. totally beside the point. If it's red, it's red. The ref isn't responsible for the spectacle or balance, he's there to enforce the laws of the game. nothing more.

blind and rooney kinda bad. Really good game so far.

For some reason I'm not feeling too nervous like the Liverpool away match though.

    Get yourself to specsavers

Well maybe you should go also then because you couldn't see driving home the other night because you don't even wear your glasses on TV in case you get slagged off so you just stick to specsavers and I'll stick to posting.

Bloody hell that was entertaining. We are so good to watch, especially down that left hand side.

LvG making everyone look like fools again - most of us (myself including) were crying out for Young to be replaced by Di Maria due to lack of end product.

More of the same please. That twat Kompany was and is a red card waiting to happen. Too emotional.

Whatever happens in this game, we have improved dramatically under LVG. The scariest thing is our starting XI only has two new signings.

This, its an absurd statement to make.

Oh the delight of watching our boys give it right back to these cnuts. Still seething inside for that 6-1 loss. What has Van Gaal done to this lot? We seem to have found the grit of the Fergie era back.

That god the Moyes nightmare is over.

Herrera has been easily the best player on the pitch.

Honourable mentions to Jones (who had managed to look terrible whilst playing really well, somehow) and Young.
I shit myself every time Jones is near the ball.

Once we realised you have to move to defend, we've been good.

Carrick and Herrera controlling it now. Would like to see Fellaini and Rooney get into Kompany now. Mata needs to try get into Clichy too.

Pretty much, the contrast between the first 15mins and the last is something else

Blind still need to sort it out tho

I'm not Louis but I'd put Young at LB and Di Maria at LW so we have more speed in defence and in attack. Meh.

This might sound weird but maybe its better for us that is still 11v11,last time vs Liverpool,we had slackers in team thinking how due them being man down, someone else will do their job,so they can relax.

I've been laughing, crying, yelling, cheering in the space of 45 minutes. What a half. Thankfully Blind wasn't injured but still a straight red for Kompany, honourable mention to Clichy for somehow managing to break up two of our attacks by tripping his man up, without receiving a card.

Fellaini and Herrera have been unstoppable!
