Not enamoured with the attack. Why not go with Ighalo? James is woefully off form. Lets hope he suddenly finds it and Martial needs to have the game of his life upfront. We havent beaten them at home in 8-9 seasons I think. I have a feeling for a 2-2 draw. Bruno and Ighalo when he comes on.

I originally went for a 1-1 draw but would probably change that now to a 1-0 for us. Would love it if Greenwood came on to get the winner! The best thing for me is that we finally look like we have one or two good options on the bench.

I put what I feel he offers in my original post. Hopefully that is the case today.

Martial and Greenwood are too similar. James, whilst he's nowhere near as Rashford, is the closest we have to that style of player, which I feel is crucial when we play with split strikers.

He doesn't score goals and barely assists goals. What is he offering?

Glad to see Maguire back for us and De Bruyne out for them. Unsurprised to see the five at the back formation against City tbh. They can definitely be gotten at, but so can we so we'll have to be at our best.

All the players hugging and shaking hands at full time. What was the point of them not shaking hands at the start of the game?

They've really not thought this initiative through. Hodgson said this yesterday:

"But we are doing our level best at the club to respect all the guidelines - we have cleaners going around disinfecting the training ground, we have hand-washes everywhere and players are no longer shaking hands or hugging each other.

But the players were hugging and shaking hands at the end of the game, and you see in a lot of games they shake hands in the tunnel too. Kinda defeats the purpose.

James up front is absolutely terrible idea. Actually it's not even an idea anymore but pure idiocy from Ole because he was our worst player every time we started in this formation with him up front. He has no idea what to do in that position, even if he scores three today it won't change a thing because it's proved many many times this season that he can't play there and that he actually costed us few times already there.

    So is Brandon Williams!
Williams has played a bit more games this season, and there is a strange working relationship with Shaw on that left side, where you don't really know who goes up. Foden? Not sure how he will play today. But I hope Fred and Matic bother him a lot, while Bruno goes for the killer.

It doesn't get any better for Stones
Pep Guardiola wasn’t asked about John Stones’s absence from the matchday squad today, which may once have seemed a bit odd for a £50m England international but no longer seems so. The good news for Stones fans is that the player is out injured rather than simply not selected but it continues a dreadful run for the defender. Be it form or fitness, he is yet to start three consecutive games this season. That is damning for a player with so much potential.

Is John Stones their equivalent of our Phil Jones?

Last win was 4-2 in 14/15 where Aguero scored after about a minute but we took control after that.

This is an absolute must win game. Lets not kid ourselves, this whole 5th place for city ban simply isn't happening. They will appeal and be in the CL next season. It's 4th or nothing. Loads of pressure to win today.

Yeah, I was just making a point. Obviously I hope he doesn't have a good game today, but the lad started a cup final last week and was MOTM.

Back to the 3-5-2 which I like but playing James purely for his pace on the counter isn't appealing as he's been so poor for a while now and lacks the goal threat of Greenwood or the link of Mata with Bruno.

James is Rashford without the stature, strength, flair & ability.

    From 4-0 down?

I mean it HAS happened..........once.. 9 years ago. :p Newcastle Arsenal 0-4 at half time. Newcastle scores 4 in 19 minutes to clinch the draw.

Weirdly enough that is the only time a team has come back from a 4 goal deficit in Premier League history.

Interestingly, the 2nd biggest comeback in League History is the infamous Game 38 of SAF's last season, where West Brom scores 3 goals in 5 minutes to make it 5:5.

That will kind of prove that he does know what to do from that position. Especially considering last time a Unite player scored three in a game was ages ago.

Coty's fron three looks frightening, but apart from that pretty average team.

The only thing I can hope for is that fernandes suddenly links up extremely well with James who makes the maddest runs ever today.

No, it won't. Scoring 3 in one game and being terrible in 10 games before hardly mean proving something. Except that everyone can get lucky.

Are Sky right with that stat? Keane never lost a Manchester derby?

Every time James plays people always say He's only there for the pace as if it's a something bad. But We rely on pace to score goals against big teams. So why is it an issue? James is crucial for these type of games.
