Anyhow, how are we supposed to dominate, ok, to deal with City's midfield having Carrick, Fellaini injured, Pogba punished and A.Pereira loaned?

As a fanatic follower of the Terms and Conditions and considering my red points, i would like to ask the caf a few mellow questions.

    A: Isn't a dive = yellow ?
B: Are you proud of our boys out there?
C: Is this what England considers snow?
D: Why are we not attacking Delph's zone?

    Yes.
Not sure what's there to be proud about but yeah, happy with the effort.
    feck knows.
Because we don't have a right winger. And no, just playing someone there doesnt make him a right winger. It just means he's playing on the right wing.

Hererra has been out best player - I think. Breaking up play and giving it to Rashford a number of times.

Rashford was having a tough time till he scored. Hope that settles him in the second half.

Need to pass a bit more as opposed to hoofing it, but defensively we have been good. 1 mistake each (Young playing everyone on side, + Delph)

Get in guys. This City team have weaknesses!

I wish we had Fellaini instead of Lukaku instead of striker in this game, it would have been much better.

People still don't get that we need players on the pitch that control the game.

Without Pogba you either need to sacrifice one of Martial and Rashford for Mata or you go to a proper midfield 3. You can't just demand our best attackers start and ignore that we have no midfield passers.

Or do what we are doing and soak up pressure and hope they counter effectively. Although id like to see Martial come central every now and again

The push on half time? I thought exactly the same, we should be getting into his ribs a bit, walking a tightrope.
Yeah, didn’t get a second look at it though but seemed to be similar to the second yellow he should’ve got (stopping a counter). If he had been given one of the other yellows then yes we could focus on him, but I think Walker might be the one to watch in that regard (and Rojo for us :nervous:).

It seems obvious to me we planned to go in level at half time and then we will come out like a bat out of hell in the second half.

We look nervous at times. Herrera and others just punting the ball long. Play out wide also poor by Martial and Rashford

Once we don’t stand off City, we will force something here.

    Wtf, how was he good?:)

Mainly being the only United player being a pain in the arse for them in the first half. He forced them to make a few mistakes. He didn't light up the pitch but I found it hard to find any positive performances from us in that first half.

Didn't even celebrate that goal as I should have, all the negativity in our play just took it away from me
i found the reason to celebrate was it was so unexpected. very rare city go ahead and anyone comes back at them immediately. showed spirit when we were second best throughout the half

Martial on the left, Rashford on the right and just run at the full backs. Walker on a yellow. and Delph, well we saw he is vulnerable, just take a chance.

I did feel that them lot were into a patient build up, whereas we were prone to getting it up to the front men ASAP.

I think we would do better against this shower if played them a bit more at their own game.

Also, we are excellent on the break, but these punts to the front aren't producing that. Some quick, controlled, passing forward and they'd soon crumble. We've already exposed their defence once, I am sure we can do it again.

Possession stats don't bother me in the slightest.

When we do have the ball, however, we need to use it better. We're losing it a little too easy.
    All this.

Deserved or undeserved, i hate it when people use that to describe a match. A team who score more than the other is then considered deserving winners, other than that nothing counts. I can save a girl's life a million times doesn't mean i deserve to bring her home.

This teams mentality is really bad at times. This is yet another game where people are so afraid of the spectacle of being in a football match that they can't string passes together. Same shite against Chelsea and Liverpool. It's nothing to do with Mourinho or being defensive, why can't we fecking pass the ball? There's no way Mourinho has instructed the players to keep giving the ball away. This team has some serious growing up to do. How can you be a footballer and be afraid of the ball?

Of course he doesn't want us to lose the ball all the time. But he want us to sit deep and absorb the pressure all the time and that doesn't give the team confidence, it's a pretty shit way too play and puts our players in a shitty position and for that he has to take the blame, especially because we are still conceding anyway without ever troubling their defence. To just switch to back 4 doesn't make us an attacking team, if we play like we did in the first half we should rather play with a back 5 anyway.

Lol the Sky presenter didn’t realize the cameras were on him when he celebrated United’s goal. Came up with some bullshit to cover it up. Hilarious

    Yes.

Quite happy with the response but disappointed i didn't learn more about the snow part. Appreciate the post nontheless.

Agreed. There needs to be some plan to get the ball into Lukaku a bit better. At least give him some support when he does manage to knock it down.

The passing has been poor from Rojo and co.

Kompany off is good for us. Lukaku should fancy his chances vs Fernan and Otamendi

Our tactics in first half: wait for City to score, then play catch-up. We got lucky and were able to even do he score at the end of first half, but I hope we have a different game plan for the second half. Mourinho has got to realize this isn’t working. We need 3 points from this game to dent City’s title aspirations.

But they've been nothing special either. It's a winnable game if we can be remotely arsed to take it to them.
That's the sane analysis. We will get more chances. We have to trust this way of playing, would be suicide to go at them Arsenal style. I agree we need more composure. But all to play for. I dont care how we win, just want to sicken them.
