    You've gone with a much stronger team than I thought. Could win this.
     
    An opportunity to draw a line under the Chelsea performance. Understandably, Pep sends the Reserves to OT in a competition they can afford to disregard, whilst JM desperately needs a reaction following Sunday. Even if we smash them, the result can be excused at the Etihad and devalued given the away team line up. But if we lose, or play badly at home.... then the pressure cranks up another level. Tonight needs to be a masterclass, both on and off the pitch for me - we need to play City off the park. Clean sheet, two clear goals and a business like, understated approach where by we never look like taking our foot off their throats, with a tactical answer for everything they throw. Want to see some accountability on the pitch and some in game management from the experienced players.
     
    I genuinely laughed when I saw Blind and Rojo as our CB pair. Gonna be a disaster. Pity the rest of the team is good except for no Martial and Miki.
     
    Where is Smalling? He injured too?
     
    I thought the league cup and Europa were exactly the kinds of competitions that Mourinho said he'd give the squad players games in. Necessitated by results or a continuation of his policy to drive his first 14-16 players into the ground?

    He can't win.

    Players get blasted on here for their application and attitude on the field and then when Mourinho does something about it people get upset.

    This whole squad need a fecking good kick up the ass and I for one am glad Mourinho has the cajones to do it.
     
    You guys have gone hard in this match, not much youth in there. Sadly think the midfield of Carrick, Pogba & Herrera against Fernando & Garcia is a pretty big mismatch and can see you taking a comfortable victory.

    Our hope has to be that Rojo plays like Rojo & Blind has one of his questionable performances.

    How come De Gea plays your Cup matches, being a back up keeper at United must be a fairly dull (if not well paid) job.

    Maybe Mkhi was signed to sweeten the Pogba and Zlatan deals. So confused.
     
    i really don't know whats happening with Miki. I hope he doesnt end up like KDB when he was at chelsea
     
    fecking hell, should have rested Pogba and Ibra. Maybe another CB for Rojo or Blind. Schneiderlin and Memphis could have had some valuable playing time and a chance to show something from the beginning.

    With the back four being changed, I don't think Mourinho would want to change the GK too. Romero has been questionable in some games, too.
     
    Our first eleven vs City's kids.

    Normally I'd say this is a no-win game for us but given where we are atm we really need to kick start some momentum. A win will be a big positive, even if it isn't against a strong City side.

    Romero played one or two earlier in the season but with Mourinho taking this and the Fenerbahce game last week very seriously he's gone for De Gea.
     
    So angry about Mkhitaryan being left out AGAIN the best creative player in the Bundesliga last season and he's not even on the bench! Mourinho is really starting to annoy me.

    Where is Smalling? Why is Rojo playing? Where is Martial?
