Not sure what scares me the most... Milner at LB, or 3-5-2.
It's definitely not 3-5-2 but Can does drop deep to receive the ball so it can become one when we have the ball.

Must admit I didn't think he would play all of Lallana, Coutinho, Sturridge and Firmino.
I expected Milner to be brought back but not at left back!

    LIVERPOOL TEAM
Liverpool: Mignolet, Clyne, Lovren, Sakho, Milner, Can, Henderson, Lallana, Coutinho, Firmino, Sturridge.

Subs: Ward, Toure, Smith, Allen, Ibe, Origi, Benteke.

    UNITED TEAM
United: De Gea, Varela, Smalling, Blind, Rojo, Carrick, Fellaini, Lingard, Mata, Martial, Rashford.

Subs: Romero, Darmian, Williams, Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger, Valencia, Memphis.

    Hillsborough.
For those too young to be aware of what happened, decades ago stadiums had standing areas where fans did not sit, but stood.
These areas would get packed out and people would get squeezed. On this occasion, people got squeezed pretty hard and some got crushed to death.
Around 100 people died that day, which is why new rules came into football where there were no longer allowed to be standing areas. Stadiums had to be all seater to avoid any repeats of the crush which occurred that day. This is why in the English league, stadiums have seats for every person watching the game. I'm not sure if this rule applies to other countries/leagues (perhaps someone can answer this for me).

I think some MUFC fans are using that event, to rile up LFC fans, by calling them murderers (of the football supporters who died that day in the stadium).

Seating is only a requirement in the premier league. Not any other division in england.

Nor other leagues. Dortmund's big stand is standing for league games, seated for champions league.

For the record standing > seating.

We absolutely should bring standing back at games. It works and is safe as proven in germany. The way it was in the 80s was dangerous, but lessons have been learned. That was a long time ago and we need to move on. Safe standing is easy to achieve. And creates a better atmosphere.

Carrick, Fellaini and Mata as a midfield three. He just keeps on picking teams that can't compete physically :(

I've heard of Hillsborough, but wasn't it mostly Liverpool fans that died then?

I was born in 1998, 13 years after Heysel happened.
I was born 9 years after it happened. It's still a very famous event and I don't really understand how you wouldn't know about it if you watch english football. Gets mentioned all the time along with Hillsborough and the Munich air disaster

    fecking Fellaini again. Love child!

Dreadful midfield to be honest, worst midfield we could have put out to be honest.

I've never heard it mentioned before to be honest. Defending myself a little here but after googling it the 2nd and 3rd links that comes up have the title:

Heysel disaster: English football's forgotten tragedy?

Heysel disaster of 1985 is football's forgotten tragedy and Liverpool and Juventus' minimal reaction prolongs hurt

Schweinsteiger should be starting for me.

My mate at work, one of 5 United fans I work with I may add, told me Blind was injured also!

LVG is fecking terrible. He has dug his grave and by the end of season will be buried in it.What a pathetic way to sign off from met. An utter failure he has been at United.

OH my God, did he just start the same team with the exception of carrick that we lost with? Why not start bastien.

I can't get over his love for Fellaini.

Thing is, there's no way he should still be allowed to dig. He should have been thrown in the hole and buried months ago.

That midfield is suited to a foosball table not a Eurpean game. And I hoped we'd gone for Memphis over Lingard.
