Based on how Rooney has played in the league, he is going to have another long day at the office. I will be really really glad if United win. But can't see it happening at the moment. I hope i learn to be more patient and optimistic with regards to rooney like how you are but it's proving to be difficult.

It's not really about that. Even without the bonkers left foot/right foot centre back symmetry, you will have a LCB and a RCB in a back four formation. If Smalling has to constantly take care of Benteke on the left, it leaves a huge gap where Smalling should be. It would be a mess if Smalling constantly tracked Benteke and Blind had to keep moving to wherever Smalling wasn't.
