We need to keep our heads cool and keep fighting for it in the 2nd half, we played well until the two goals - Rashford really needs to contribute more defensively, Bruno needs to stop looking for these soft fouls especially in our defensive third.

Good start with the goal then a great chance to go two ahead that McTomminay missed. Liverpool started coming back and there was way too much room between Liverpool's midfield and attack with Fernandes and McTominay not tracking back enough to help Mainoo deal with it. Poor tracking back and positioning on the Liverpool goals too. And Fernandes went down far too easily, AWB stopped playing to call for the foul too - You always carry on playing. Far too easy to play against and Liverpool are ahead now without really leaving 2nd gear. Could get worse in the 2nd half

Nine times out of ten that's a foul given. No way var overturns it though. Only ourselves to blame, switched off in last 10 mins.

He's so used to going down easily is the problem. It's always going to ruck us at some point.

Onana is a muppet. That ball to Wan Bissaka caused the second goal. Immediately put him under pressure. It’s like he can’t sense danger.

Playing out from the back has been shocking all game yet we continue persisting with it. Tiring.

Was a good half for the most part. But then also had way too many occasions where Liverpool had acres of space behind our midfield, in front of the defence. So definitely a problem. Playing out from the back also completely hopeless, there's just no options to pass to and they're blocking it off too easily. Basically tired after 30 minutes and haven't been able to close them down properly or get in open space to receive the ball enough now. Shame.

Mainoo and Dalot excellent, Wan Bissaka mostly good, The front 3 doing well too. Need to not lose hope and come back in this

Both Liverpools goals down to pontificating on the ball at the back. 2mins to half time, hoof the ball as far as possible. We were looking tired towards the end of that half so need to keep possession of the ball as high up the pitch as possible. First thirty minutes from Utd were excellent.

Bruno still has the mentality that if he knows he's going to lose the ball in a stupid area, go down and claim a foul.

He must not realise that VAR has pretty much killed that trick.
Yeah but is so annoying the ref gave a foul for less when Gomez fouled Bruno in exactly the same way earlier in the game.

Definite foul on Bruno. Liverpool get that easy if we have two players waiting in the box, you can't knock people over high up and goal hang, well you can if you're Liverpool. Cheating bastards.

We just don't get the normal fouls, refs always looking to play on but opposition the ref will be instant with the whistle.

How are we supposed to keep hold of games when you can't get the normal decisions and then straight on the back foot in your own box.

How can you say this after our best half all season and basically playing Liverpool off the park. How is it on the manage that he’s got brain dead players. Just use your head ffs.

    edit: sorry quoted the post!

We played well for about 20 mins. The period from 20-40mins was already looking less convincing.

what are you even talking about?

1st was a deflection and 2nd he makes a great save and the defenders are nowhere for the rebound.

It has to be down to race, there's no way he's getting blamed for this much. The hate is insane
Great save. Christ, no point nowadays, people have zero clue.

You're not seriously blaming Onana for that are you?
Some people I'm convinced have an agenda since De Gea left.

He makes a great save, with no way of directing it anywhere and the defenders are stood around doing their shopping. Onana's fault for not swatting it away to the left wing!

Can you not see they go from VVD to the edge of our box inside 2 seconds and one pass? They've been camped there for the last twenty mins.

We did the same thing to them to create our chances? Both teams are playing the ball through midfield quickly, but the difference is our players can’t press or pass out from the keeper like theirs.

We aren’t winning this now, Liverpool are a second half team. AWB should have made the forward pass when he had the second chance after messing up the first one. Instead we invited the press in our final third and paid the price. We aren’t good enough.

It’s the same suicidal football we’ve seen all season. There’s no control.

The legs were going after 30 mins, the Liverpool goals were coming, it is an insanely wide open approach that physically kills the midfield.

    The Caf is mental.

They simultaneously blame ETH for having no « patterns of play » and blame him for not budging from his tactics.

We had a great first half, with Liverpool having nothing to show for but 4 minutes of chaos in which they scored a deflected goal and another on the counter after a save from the keeper.

We were hardly suffocating and beaten by a team playing wayyyy better football than us

Usual suspects, Rashford allowing the Liverpool defender to stroll into our box without a challenge and the Bruno decided to give the ball away in a horrific position.

    Same shit all the time.

Pushing it 5 yards out to Salah wasn't his fault?
Seriously? Have you even played the game ? Look at how close the attacker is and how powerful the shot is. All you can do at that moment is make your body as large as possible and hope the ball hits somewhere.

    Seriously, some of our fans!!

Onana is a bit unlucky, arguably he gets too good a hand on it. As a keeper, your job is to keep it out and you hope you get a bit of luck. You also hope your defenders react.

What are we trying to accomplish when we get pressed into our own corner flag every game?

I was screaming at them to just boot it far, high, and out. Just fecking clear it.

That score line is so depressing to look at. A proper uppercut in the balls.

Why the feck we’ve got the disabled section under the away fans in the first place is beyond me

    Exactly this.
There's a reason most clubs put the away section lower down so they can't throw stuff at those below them.

We did the same thing to them to create our chances? Both teams are playing the ball through midfield quickly, but the difference is our players can’t press or pass out from the keeper like theirs.
Just watch the HT analysis. So open, it's a joke.

I am so sick of playing deep with "quick transition" against every team. I would rather watch Lvg's endless passing than this. Sure, we created some good chances with this setup but sitting deep against Liverpool at OT? Come on, ffs!

We were hardly sitting deep? That's one of the more attacking halves we've had this season. We drop deep into the box, as is our wont, when they have ball control in our 1/3, but there's a difference between that and sitting deep.
