Thats all we will be able to do because the 3 man midfield won't be able to keep possession for more than one pass, possibly two passes if they are both backwards.
I know the options are limited but the only acceptable explanation for starting Elanga is that ETH is trying to send a message to those holding the purse strings. Look how terrible my options are right now! I am starting a player who's only attribute is his speed, but yet he still won't be able to win a footrace against any of their defenders.
AWB can tackle but I'm not he does much for defensive solidity. His positioning is pretty bad and while going forward Dalot isn't great but AWB just slows down or kills every attack .I thought Liverpool had injury issues? I'm tired of Fred losing the ball deep in our own half several times in a game. Casemiro should be an astronomical upgrade over either Fred or Scott. Fred as an #8 further up the pitch would make us more press-resistant in posession IMO

If you play Eriksen at 10 then your double pivot is picking 2 of Fred/McTominay/VdB. Hardly a step up.
We had a great pre-season. A lot of players have now shown they aren’t up for the prem either mentally or physically. Neither Eriksen or Martinez made it on tour.
