    Liverpool are not all that!
2 points from 2 undeserved draws.
Hopefully playing Liverpool will give the team some added fire.
I personally think the 50% saying a 0-5 Liverpool win are way of the mark.
I think we could get something, if they can come out and play.

forget it. This bunch has no fire in them. Liverpool on the other hand do. Their players actually run. They didn’t have a good start, but I watched them against Palace yesterday and for sure they will dominate us like they did yesterday even after going down to 10 men. I’m thinking of Diaz vs Dalot, poor Dalot… also, salah didn’t have a good game against palace, but i’m sure he’ll bounce back.

like i said, they will dominate. Does this team have it in them to defend a dominant liverpool side and hurt them on the counter attack? I highly highly doubt it, but i surely hope so.

They are massively off form so don't think they will score more than three against us. Maybe we can pin one back - one can hope.

3 at the back, erstwhile wingbacks, all hands to the pump, hit them on the counter. A lot of the same old boring faces, but as much as I'd like to see Garnacho or Iqbal get in, Liverpool is mentally probably not the match for it. Wingbacks to stifle their fullbacks, McTominay to break things in the middle, Eriksen as the QB, Bruno as the excitable dog let off his leash after being tied up all day, or sub him out and bring in Ronaldo? Sancho as the one player who can dribble, Martial unavailable, maybe bring in Garnacho? Needs must.

We just don't have the personnel for this match.

McTominay is not a pivot, below, but a 6th defender ostensibly right above the center backs. He can't launch any attacks the way Fred might be able to, but he can break up play better and use his physicality. No one who can play on the left other than Sancho, why waste a starting berth on Rashford? Maguire can sit, I'm just too frustrated with him lately. Shaw sits.

We don't have any goal scoring threats, better hope for a lucky corner or a penalty. Garnacho and Sancho to clog their attacking lanes. Basically 6 defenders, 3 hapless midfielders, and Ronaldo.

-----------------------------------------DeGea---------------------------------------- [clangers or world class stopping]
    -------------- Varane-------------Lindelof--------Martinez------------------ [Three shit-scared centerback rabbits]
Dalot--------------------------------------------------------------------Malacia [road blocks for their fullbacks]
    -----------------------------------McTominay-------------------------------------- [destroyer/6th defender]
    ----------------------------------------Eriksen--------------------------------------- [only decent forward passer]
Garnacho---------------------------------------------------------------Sancho [pace on the wings to occupy fullbacks]
---------------------------------------Ronaldo--------------------------------------- [maybe some magic left in the old dog?]

I think if we can keep it down to losing by only 4 goals it will be considered a good day.

Presumably Nunez is banned from the game - well, that's one less goal to worry about. Re-prediction: 0-6!

If we can't get a bit of a bounce in this game then it will be a real let down. Fair enough they're just a better side than us currently, but we should be giving them a hard time and the crowd at OT something to cling onto.

Are they allowing a crowd in? I thought the protest was to empty the stadium, although this would be the best time to play them since they arent in form either. Losing Mane has hurt them a lot.

There is no organised protest, it was a twitter hash tag.

It's going to click and we are going to batter them, if the lads cant get up for this game then we truly are done. Cmon United

I still can't see us getting a result even if they're without all of Nunez, Firmino, Jota, Thiago, Matip, and Konate. They'll probably get 1-2 of them back (bar the obvious) and maybe even have a new signing anyway.

However, if we can somehow pull this one out of the bag, it would be quite funny that we'd be above Liverpool despite how awful we are

I would drop Bruno for this one. Can't have him giving possession away cheaply and he has lost his shooting boots.

I'd probably just go fully functional to keep the score down, even with all of their injuries. Pack the defence and start Elanga just for a bit of energy in the team.

Crazier things have happened. We were in absolutely rotten form when Ole got a 2-0 win at City with the long range McT goal, if I remember correctly
True. But the morale was different back then. Today it seems like none of United`s players believe they can win a match.

This team would at least give it a royal good go against Liverpool, and it would send a message to the underperforming untouchables

I feel an ominous dread that you lot moved the score predictions to more than 5 goals just prior to this game. :nervous:

    Finally, I can predict 7-0!!
it won't let me change my prediction... so I'll have to hope for our best performance of the season so far and stick to the 0-5 (of course being this negative means we will indeed lose 5-0 because it seems, according to some, I have the power to influence the team)

It’s going to be a tie. That’s my shock prediction.

No no, we're going to WIN 7-0 :wenger:

    If Martial not back:

    De Gea
    Dalot Maguire Martinez Malacia
    Fred McTominay
    Eriksen
    Elanga Rashford Sancho

Speed up top for pressing and counter attack, Bruno benched, Malacia to bully Salah. Don‘t feel good about Dalot against Diaz, but can‘t be helped.

Liverpools first win of the season.

We have already become that team we were second half of last season - regardless of your form, injuries, ability, you are going to get a goal and if you have a bit about you at least a point

Liverpool looked on song against Crystal Palace and were unlucky not to win. But the whole world knows they have a gaping hole behind Trent when they attack and with VVD not on Trent's side, whoever the CB is (wish it was Phillips, but could be Gomez), thats were we need to attack. I wont put it past us to nick a win, like how we did in the pre-season.

It all rests on ETH shoulder. If he sticks to his tactics of playing from the back then we will be thrashed 5 - 0. Instead if does a prime Ole or a prime Jose and park a triple decker with runners on counter, We can win this!

0-2 loss. We cant beat bang average teams that will finish bottom half. Not a hope against a top one. I haven't watched a Liverpool match vs us in 2 seasons. Just no need to put myself through that torture. Obviously not going to change now. Really hope I'm wrong.

Ahh.. I see the root problem in your prediction now.

Ahh.. I see the root problem in your prediction now.

The results speak for themselves. What would watching the matches change? If your point is that it's too low, well i am being optimistic we won't get a hiding for once, but not to the extent we could actually get a result.

Finally Liverpool can get the three points they need to kickstart their season.

Be careful ladies and gentlemen, the wrong sort of rain is about to fall on Monday 22 August 2022 at Old Trafford. Anyone vulnerable should stay indoors, eat Quorn burgers and refrain from using cash to attend the game.

Tbh the 5-0 scoreline could be worse. They completely took foot off the gas actually. It could be 8-0 or 9-0 if they wanted it. But that was last season. I know what you meant.
Itsbgoing to be a case of stoppable force meets a very movable object.
