    No Herrera :(

Otherwise is fine. Hopefully Wilson can justify his selection (we could have easily played Januzaj instead of him) and cause trouble to Liverpool with his speed.

Wilson is faster than Januzaj. Adnan is not very fast/pacey!

We finally get a centre midfielder that can play a bit and we're still playing Rooney and Mata in there with Fellaini.

Well Brent an and his boys are probably passing themselves laughing.

Injuries aside, I just don't get the inclusion of Wilson. Hope he proves me wrong, but I would rather of played Falcao if he wants 2 up front. Don't know what Herrera has got to do to stay in the side.

Gone from very confident to hopeful in the space of an hour.

Yeah it's a shame, last time Wilson played, he disappointed, Herrera keeps impressing and struggling to get in the team.

the last time herrera played, he is no way near the impress level...LVG is picking players based on form and also tactics..wilson picked over falcao, does that makes him better than falcao? Its all about how the team is deployed..Cant believe people still cant see how LVG choose the team..

Random, but I always enjoy RVP's interviews like the one he just did on Sky Sports. Could listen to him talk all day.

With good reason imo. Playing Rooney in CM rather than up top and sacrificing Herrera against Liverpool's midfield will likely cost us A LOT of control in the game.

It's a poor line up this time from Van Gaal - the Rooney in midfield call needs to stop. Play him up top and put Herrera in the middle.

Nonsense. Van Gaal knows the players and lineups better than you, the arm chair spectator.

Damn, just realized De Gea is wearing Adidas gloves. Ominous sign for transfer to Real or hopeful sign due to our new kit sponsor next year?

God the caf has become a creche full of whinging toddlers. Ok, maybe Herrera should be in there, but otherwise that's a pretty good line-up given who's available.

Wilson over Falcao is an excellent decision. With Di Maria out, we had to include someone to offer pace and penetration.

Rooney's not in CM, he's in the hole.

    It's a decent-enough line-up. Just be happy we're not playing 3 at the back.

Hilarious to see everyone complaining about Wilson starting ahead of Falcao after the whole caf spent the last week or two inexplicably slagging Falcao off.

I think he'll be in CM, and he's a striker. My prediction is expect to see A LOT of those cross field passes from him.

    Hopefully I'm wrong.

I'm not bothered about Falcao/Wilson, I wanna see Rooney and RvP up top with Herrera in the middle.

Right? Players get in on merit under LVG. Clearly he thinks Wilson has been better than Falcao in matches and in training.

Do we really want to grant starting berths on reputation alone?

Basically yeah, as LVG also said Wilson's speed could be key and with di Maria out it's something we lack from elsewhere.

It's a shame Ander doesn't start as his energy could be effective but some on here massively overrate him and he wasn't great last time out either plus fellaini physicality could be key also.

    We are at home

why cater to their formation when we have been playing our game for months now

    United 1 striker:confused:

    HA!
Im not catering to their formation necessarily. We've looked really good recently with Herrera, Carrick and Fellaini all operating in midfield. One striker plus Rooney and an AM is plenty going forward.

Anyone else worried about Phil Jones starting today? In the past he's always struggled when he's making a comeback from injury. He always seems to need a few games before he's at his best.

And those games where he's getting up to speed have been poor performances in the past. Plus he has Jonny Evans, who is also making his comeback from injury, alongside him. Might see a few blunders today!

Neither. Gloves are individual deals the same as boots. Is Di Maria going back to Real because he wears Predators?

No he didn't and Herrera hasn't been impressing at all, he's been very poor.
You cant be serious about that. Wilson had two runs and he was very weak in duels. I'm suprised if i see something else today. He to fresh to start into such an important game. Herrera had come in everytime and improve the play of the midfield. He also brings speed to the midfield and tries to get passes upfront. Hes link up with Mata is also very good.

Our whole back 4 is a cluster feck. Just pray Pool's poor attacking continues

    I disagree!

I think Rooney will be LCM and Mata in the hole.

Herrera has been very poor?

    That's it lads I'm off.
He has in some games, but usually games when nobody is playing well. He was great against Hull, created a goal against Stoke. Looked good when he first came on against Southampton, but you wonder what the orders from the boss were at half-time. It is as though he is being asked to keep possession rather than be creative, which is a shame. He certainly adds some legs to the team.

It does look cobbled together. CB who hasn't played in 2 months, wingers in both fullback positions, one of Rooney or Mata playing deep in midfield, and 3 centre-forwards in the XI. A mess really, but Fergie often selected messes and got great results with them.

We have no attacking width. There isn't anyone to pass it out to.

Wilson's pace hopefully will drag the liverpool defence all over the place and provide RVP with space to do his lethal stuff

TBF starting any of our CB's is a waste of a sub.
