tell me about your feelings on Wilson then.

I don't need to tell you "about my feelings on Wilson" but I will tell you that your assessment/comparison of him, is laughable and absolute rubbish to me, and I'm sure anyone else, who's actually watched him play more than once.

Hernandez without the finishing? Thats basically describing a Sunday league pub teams leading striker, and not one of the most talented youngster, to come out of Uniteds academy in the last decade.

Also, Its funny seeing people on hear, moaning about united losing their identity when we sold an a academy graduate to arsenal one minute, and then moaning when an extremely talented academy graduate, might get given a chance to play the next minute.

I hope he starts tomorrow and scores.

Gerrard slipping banner.....But, it's all gone quiet since it was first touted about
Hmm. Still though probably around 70000 United fans singing it over and over should do the trick. Can't wait to hear the harmony

So Brad Jones starting for Liverpool apparently. Deserved because Mignolet is just absolutely awful, but I hope we test out Jones as he'll be very nervous.

Apparently it's Tony Evans who has said that Jones starts tomorrow. Another bizarre selection from Rodgers if true, considering the magnitude of the game.

I think the only bizarre thing is that he wasn't dropped sooner. Brad Jones is terrible but when the defence has lost confidence in their keeper and he's making mistakes every game it's time for a change. I'm not confident with Brad Jones in nets, but I prefer that than Mignolet. The game of magnitude thing doesn't bother me, Mignolet last season was worse in the high pressure games than against the lower sides.

Obviously all dependent on the rumoured line-up being true, which I'm sceptical about.

Fair point about Mignolet actually. We played City and Chelsea back to back at the end of December last year and he was responsible for two of the goals conceded I think. This issue really needs to be addressed in January.

We'll find out at about half 12 tomorrow if it's all a load of rubbish. It just feels off for Rodgers to make such a big call like that at a time where every decision he makes is under scrutiny.

Indeed. That was the start of Mignolet's down turn I'd say. Up until then he was decent enough but it seemed like he never overcame the confidence knock that gave him.

Hoping for some more of this tomorrow...

Just watch, they'll turn into set piece machines tomorrow and turn to shit again the following week.

It's like a masterpiece that gif, it should be hung in an art gallery. There's just so much going on.

The guy with the 'face within a face' is the best. He turns his head and his hair at the back seems to stay in the same position. Is it a shadow or a really bad hair-piece? And why is one guy seemingly 5 seconds behind whilst watching from the stands? It poses so many questions. Not to mention the guy with no head.

    It really is.

My predicted line up. Would be nice if Rafael played i just have a hunch Tony will play. Consistency in big matches etcetc. Hoping Falcao starts but i've almost given up he'll ever get fit. If he starts Mata is out and Rooney as 10. Wilson to start? I just don't see it but his pace would be refreshing. Januzaj instead of Mata? It's an idea but Louie is probably hesitant throwing in youngsters in the bigger games after McNair's shaky appearance vs Soton.

I've been confident all week, thinking we'd get a quite comfortable 3-0 win. But hearing that Liverpool are going to play Lallana, Coutinho and Sterling really worries me. I was asking in the Rodgers thread earlier this week why Lallana and Couiniho didn't start against Basel, as for me, they are easily their best players along with Sterling.

Lallana has fked up ribs, so I dunno if he will play or not. They should probably be more worried, Falcao, RVP, Rooney to play against.

Looks good. I think that would be our strongest XI, unless of course as you say Rafa plays.

Need revenge for last year's embarrassment at OT. We need to beat them by more than two goals at least, and I hope Fergie is there as well watching.

Coutinho is very inconsistent. He'll show up for some games and put in a fantastic performance then go missing in others or try too hard to play the perfect final pass. I think with Lallana it's a fitness issue. I seem to remember him only lasting 60 minutes more often than not with Southampton last season, so Rodgers has been using him here and there as opposed to every game.

That being said, I am hoping for both to start tomorrow. At least one of them should have started in midweek.

Just a shame Smalling got injured. Evans needs a good game tomorrow. I feel Valencia and Young can match pools pace on the wings. If they play Sterling as a primarily counter attacking striker i hope we don't play such a high line tomorrow. Rojo needs to stay close to Sterling and Evans covering.

I'm not too bothered about their attack as I'm sure they will have more than their hands full with ours, which will ease off their ability to attack our third.

True. I'm just always looking for the clean sheet ; ) Some inter-linking play amongst Herrera-Mata-Rooney with RvP finishing it off ought to do it. We'll win this.

Haven't finalised it yet but I think it's going to be Rooney behind RVP and Wilson.

    DDG
    Valencia - Evans - Rojo - Young
    Carrick
    Fellaini - Herrera
    Rooney
    Wilson- Van Persie

A little part of me is wondering if he will get Jones back in there for Herrera and play 3 at the back though.

Valencia and Jones on the right side and Rojo and Young on the left should nullify anything they have to throw at us and allow us to play a high line.

If Rafael is fit, I would move Valencia further up like the role he had against Everton.

Biggest worry for me is Evans with his hands all over Liverpool attackers and them going down for penalties.

Id rather see your line up come true, good sir. Wouldnt surprise me if he opted for 352 but i hope not, we just look so flustered when pressed.

Same can be said for Skrtel/Johnson. We're due a penalty, what better time than at home to the scousers.

Please have Wilson start this game with Rooney and RVP. I really hope we smash them, we haven't done that in a while

    Won't happen tho.

Very important personally to get a big win tonight to banish the memory of last season performance. Fark u moyes!

Anyway I had a feeling that we are due a big big performance, and some team will be on the receiving end of it. Dear god please let it be today

It's game day folks. Come on United!!
