feck you cnuts wanting a draw. I will take a draw if we are down 3 love at half time... barring that Zlatan hattrick and a clean sheet is what I will take.

Same. Our record at Old Trafford combined with injuries/Mane missing makes me think that a draw is as good as we can get. They're pretty good at the moment as well. We've not been bad but we've dropped a level in terms of performance since Coutinho's injury.

Don’t you have more or less everyone back for Sunday?

Makes or breaks our season, if we win I can see us pushing on and pulling ourselves back in the title race.

Lose and we're back to battling for top four.

This, I think City are most likely to drop points as they play Everton away. Even if City or any anyone else above doesn't lose, we can close the gap between us and Liverpool to just 2 points. Moreover, the boost this would give us on our current winning run would be invaluable.

    I'd expect it to be:

Mignolet; Clyne, Matip, Lovren, Milner; Henderson, Wijnaldum, Can; Lallana, Coutinho, Firmino.

This is based on the assumption that we pick up no fresh injuries between now and Sunday, and that our injured players (Henderson, Matip, Milner and Coutinho) are all ready to go.
Ah that sounds about right. I just don't want Sturridge to play, he seems to score against us a fair bit and that dance would annoy me even further.

I'm not 100% sure if Henderson, Milner, Matip and Coutinho will be fit enough to play. Mane is obviously unavailable.
Would be good to have Mkhitaryan vs Moreno and Ibrahimovic vs Klavan

The good thing about this fixture is, that even at Chelsea Mourinho despised the Scousers, he will want to win this more than anyone!

I'd take a draw for this match. It's not end all, be all for either team on Sunday. Losing would be devastating. United need points and 1 will do and we move on. Stoke (A), Hull (H), Leicester (A), Watford (H) before Manchester Derby at Emptihad.

These are the matches where Pogba has to be above everyone else. Second time around against Liverpool and he's really settled down now.

Depends how adventurous Klopp is feeling - I was distinctly unimpressed with his approach at Anfield earlier in the season. Had they been braver, they'd have beaten us.

It's a different story now though, we're in form and at Old Trafford we're dominant.

This will be as much about Mourinho vs Klopp tactically as it will be individual player performances. Here's hoping Jose does a number on Liverpool and Jurgen.

I'm surprised about the lack of Mata in these lineups, he has been so good for us in big games.

Then again, with Mata you're gonna have to leave out Mkhi or Martial. Bloody selection dilemmas.

It really is a headache, part of me would have down Mata as the first player in the XI after Pogba, but part of me think Mkhi and Martial will be more important in the 4-3-3 we play with Carrick.

feck all this accepting a draw shite - I want to smash these twats!

Don’t know the details (apart from Coutinho), but could imagine they’ll be patched up to play.
We'll need them. I'd definitely prefer Matip against Ibrahimovic instead of Klavan.

The biggest concern would be who plays the holding role if Henderson is missing. I think Can would struggle there and he's the realistic option if Henderson does miss out.

I thought Can was poor against Plymouth and hasn't been that good for us this season at all. Our best midfield is clearly Henderson/Wijnaldum/Lallana imo. I'd start with Sturridge up front, he's been good whenever he's played and we need a goal threat now Firmino's form has dipped and Mane is gone.

Left back and left wing are the only positions which are up for debate. I think Jose would prefer Blind over Darmian for his set-piece taking abilities and due to the fact he won't be up against pacy Mane. Martial loves playing against Liverpool and has been in great form and should ideally start but wouldn't surprise me if Jose plays Lingard/Young to deal with Clyne as he did at Anfield when he played Young at wing.

This game is HUGE. Biggest game in a long long time. I really think this will have a massive impact on how the rest of the season goes. Whichever team wins will go from strength to strength.

Martial has to start IMO. Even if he has a quiet period during the game, when he is on the ball running at defenders he causes them so many problems. With Carrick back and Martial on the left and Mhki on the right I will be confident of a win.

Massive game in terms of our season objectives. Win and who knows how far we can go. Draw and top 4 is still on, lose and it'll be very hard to get higher then 5th IMO. A loss would be crushing on the confidence though so to be honest, I would probably take a draw if offered right now. Keeps things going along pretty well and not far off

I agree about Can but I think Klopp might go for the same approach he decided on for the City game.

Sturridge played against United at Anfield and got bullied by Smalling and Bailly. I think Firmino is a bit smarter as a striker personally. I definitely wouldn't bother with Origi.

I really don't understand those who are saying they'd take a draw, that would be a much better result for them then it would be for us. We are in a very good situation at the moment, after winning 9 in a row, no injuries or suspensions (just Bailly away on international duty) we are playing well.
Liverpool are no great shakes at the moment, we recently saw Sunderland draw with them at home and Bournemouth beat them at home, they are missing their best player in Mane and have several other injury doubts to key players. Anything less then 3 points on Sunday should be a disappointment to us, I'm sure it would be to Jose and the players.

We will win this. They were shocking against Plymouth. They will have one eye on Sunday when they play tomorrow, with the added pressure of United doing their job today. Really think they're going to get done tomorrow which can only hinder their confidence.

Then again it's Southampton A vs Southampton B. We will bet the Dippers on Sunday 2-0. Don't care who scores...just want the win.

Spurs barely got a look in against us, I suspect Liverpool will have the same problem. A routine 2-0 win is on the cards.

    DDG
    Valencia - Smalling - Jones - Blind
    Carrick
    Herrera - Pogba
    Micky - Zlatan - Martial

Mata, Rashford, and Rooney/Fellaini to come on, depending on how the game turns out.

None of those players, or maybe one, will be playing Sunday. And we won't have added pressure because United won today ffs  Like we expected anything else against a shocking Hull side.

Don't know what's wrong with me but I think we'll win. Oh and we'll probably hit the post.

Our big game record gives me confidence. We should definitely be less meek than we were last time around in the league at Old Trafford.

Some of the 'big guns' came on and you still couldn't break Plymouth down. That team should have despatched Plymouth easily. What team is Klopp going to put out tomorrow?? Will he be playing the same team tomorrow and Sunday?? You're going to lose both games anyway.

My main concern at the moment is that we've gone into cruise control the last few games, i just hope we don't take this form into the Liverpool game because we will get beat. We have been giving the ball away far too easily under no pressure. The players need to lift themselves.

I also thought Martial was poor tonight and i think he might have played himself out of the lineup. Rashford will probably start on the left.

THE LATEST ON IBRA AND ROJO

Jose Mourinho has provided an update on the availability of Manchester United duo Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo for Sunday's mouth-watering clash against Liverpool.

Ibrahimovic was set to face Hull City in the first leg of the EFL Cup semi-final on Tuesday evening, but Mourinho revealed to ManUtd.com before the match that illness had forced the Swede to miss the game.

When asked whether the striker would be well enough to face Jurgen Klopp's men, the boss told reporters at his post-match press conference: "Zlatan is ill so I think no problem, I think he will be fine."

There appears to be more of a doubt over Rojo who limped out of Saturday's FA Cup win over Reading with a muscular problem. The Argentinian missed the victory over Hull and on his possible availability for Sunday's important Premier League meeting, Mourinho said: "I don't know [if Rojo will be fit]. Marcos has a muscular problem, not big. I'm not saying he's not ready to play, I'm saying that I have my doubts."

You're a terrible WUM, I don't even know why I bothered to reply to you.

Martial didn't have much time to do anything. I thought It was Rashford that had a poor game IMO. Expect Martial to start.
