His purple patch is over. He's been atrocious recently and he's getting slower too.
That was not purple patch. Those were two games where we played deep defence and his job was to be parked in penalty box and clear crosses.

Fecking he’ll, I’ve had such a shite day… my car got broken into and all the electronics were stolen, had to get a tow to the garage… was hoping for a United win to feel a bit better but looks like the day just keeps getting worse. Not sure it’ll happen but, hope we sneak a win in the second half somehow.

    Thoughts and prayers

I think Amorim made a big mistake sticking with Dalot as Rwb, when he’s bought a Lwb, yet plays him on the right. How we gonna get crosses into the box when they have to stop and turn back to use their good foot

Hojlund invisible but what can the kid do? Progressing the ball up the pitch seems absolutely impossible for this team, let alone actually creating a chance ffs.
They always look lost when a team sits back and holds its shape, it’s been like this for years

There is zero pleasure in watching this team. Aside from the last few minutes v City and the Arsenal game, I haven’t been excited once. We’re dreadfully boring and I just don’t know when or how this changes. If anyone thinks this is acceptable they’re wrong and can anyone see the bigger picture here? We’re drifting towards mediocrity and it might get worse. I don’t think we’ve hit rock bottom and it’s gonna hurt when we do.

Why we can’t play Garnacho as right winger/amc if left footed RWB is a must? I kinda get it - Amad was deadly with his underlapping inside runs. Garnacho could keep width and have all space he needs. He can beat his man with kick and run and provide an early cross/make a cut back with his right foot. Dorgu would naturally provide width on the left.
    Ruben has lost the plot.

WHY the feck is Dorgu at RWB and Dalot at LWB??

Obviously, he's had some success using inverted wing backs (Quenda and Amad). However, I really don't get it with our team. We've been carrying out for natural width for years. It's been one of the major problems with Shaw being missing for so long. Just look at how Shaw helped Rashford have his best form by offering overlapping and underlapping runs.

With Dalot and Dorgu on their natural sides it would open up space in the pockets for Mainoo and Amad or whoever is at no 10 and would add an option to cross for Hojlund on the run. I don't see any downsides to it.

It's not the matches genius, it's the amount of time to coach the system, and not worry about the opposition.

The problem is right now he's not picking a few right players when it's obvious some just don't work in their positions.
He’s had plenty of time to train them to play better than this. How long does he need?? We are a shockingly poor football team, it really shouldn’t take anything complicated to get us playing better football.

Those holding out for a miraculous difference after the summer break are starting to kid themselves.

The senior players need to play better, Onana, Maguire, Mazraoui, DeLigt, Dalot, Ugarte, Bruno all need to be asking themselves serious questions about their mentality and whether they have what it takes to play under this pressure.

Amorim and his team need to pull their fingers out and somehow get this bunch of wasters to play with some fecking energy.

It’s disgraceful all round, simple as that.

It makes no sense. A number of times Mainoo had space to turn and drive forward and just passed it backwards. It's not like he's not capable.
He’s been fecking embarassing. Supposed to be one of the best carriers in this entire team and he just floats around like he’s Pirlo except without any of the class, just lazily boots it back to any CB that finds him further forward.

I've said the before, will say it again. When literally every single player appears terrible then it's on the coach. Amorim has genuinely been awful since coming in.

This is shocking stuff, especially at home when we are supposed to be going for win. We don't have a shot on target the whole half. I won't even blame the strikers either as we have genuinely created feck all. How can we, when our best creator is playing deep lying midfielder, as far away from goal as he can be.

Amorim needs to pull his finger out of his ass. How many training sessions does he need for us to get more than a shot on target in one half against Championship teams? Genuinely awful from him.

The system is the elephant in the room, I don't rate Hojlund but even he's not this bad. He either stops playing this system or we get rid before the end of the season and start with someone new in the summer.

I honestly think this is worse than LVG. At least under him we’d comfortably dominate the ball the majority of the time restricting the opposition to very little chances, and we had the quality on the pitch to score the odd goal the few times we did attack. This team however is fecking brutal! They leak goals for fun, can barely string 5 passes together and absolutely shit the bed whenever they venture into the oppositions half. Just when you think we’ve hit rock bottom we always find a way to reach new lows.

Hojland as a centre forward makes my gran look like Joe Jordon.
To be honest that 1st half , you can’t really be blaming Hojlund . Absolute zero from players around him only side passes apart from Amad

Under Van Nistelrooy we scored a few really low percentage long range shots, but other than that it was indistinguishable from Ten Hag.
We battered them 5-2 in one game and I'm sure the other was comfy too.
We don't look like we'll even get a shot off tonight.

will be interesting to see how this goes. Said it before but if southampton hadnt collapsed late against us cant imagine the situation we would be in right now.

Team’s out early. Shots fired. That’s the most exciting move we’ve made this evening.
