    I've gone for
    DDG
    Valencia - Bailly - Smalling - Blind
Herrera - Fellaini - Pogba (who knows formation)
    Rashford - Zlatan - Lingard

    Subs: Rooney, Mata, Mkhitaryan

Torn on whether Carrick would start. Don't think Martial will start either.
Lingard did start against Leicester previously, in the right-wing, though. His last appearance in the left-wing by itself should forbid that lineup. I think it's more of a push between Mata and Mkhitaryan.

Not really looking forward to this at all. I can see Mou not learning anything from his mistakes, 2-man Fellpogs and Rooney starting - queue meltdown and distress.

I know it won't happen yet, but I'd love to see: (Playing a diamond with Pogba and Ibra occupying similar spaces)

    De Gea
    Valencia Bailey Blind Shaw
    Carrick
    Herrera Schneiderlin
    Pogba
    Ibrahimovic...............
    ..........
    Rashford
Pogba can push out to the left and Herrera the right and Ibra will drop slightly deeper with Rashford as the front runner.. The problem with us is the lack of wingers/ inside forwards of quality, for that reason I don't think we should play with wingers. How many of our goals have come from getting to the byline? Valencia and Shaw attack anyway and with Herrera & Pogba peeling off to left & right MF lines, I think it could be quite compact. I think Ibra/ Rooney & Pogba play the same position and you can't start with all of them. In his last few games Ibra has dropped deeper and not stretched the oppo defense, Rashford would do that..

Same. I know it's premature to write off a new manager, but if he can't take the big decision, he shouldn't be in the chair. And if Rooney really has a play clause in his contract, the club should say so.
If thats true its shows what a laughing stock we are

Part of me wonders if Jose is starting Rooney tomorrow because he knows a large portion of the crowd is fed up with him. If Rooney has a poor performance and bad touches, you'd have to think at this stage the crowd is going to let him hear it. Was it Johnny Evans a few years ago who misplaced a pass and OT let him have it?

I'd rather he just have the balls to drop him himself rather than react to the crowd reaction

    Nope.
Why would a manager ruin the results of his own team, just so he can make supporters laugh at one of his own players?
Every manager, will put out a set of players that he believes will get the best result.

    Moyes.
    Hodgson
    LVG
    Allardyce.
    Jose.

All think that Rooney is one of, if not the best player in the country.
His reward: Captain of club and country and the right to play in every game (first name on the team sheet), providing he is fit to play.

There are also those who say, "contract. contract. he is contractually obliged to play."
    Oh right.
So what about Hodgson and Allardyce? Allardyce has gone so far as to say that Rooney shall play no matter what and he can play in any position he chooses.

If we had Messi available to play for England/MUFC, my guess would be that Rooney would start ahead of him.

And for those who think that nobody in their right mind would argue that Rooney is good, watch below:

.....now if Rooney plays...and scores a hattrick....deary me that would throw a spanner in the works within the caf. In fact, that would be make for tremendous reading....:smirk:

Just want to point out on that the England team and Rooney are both sponsored by Nike - that maybe why the England managers haven't got any say with regards what Wayne does.

    Of what? Own goals?:D

Goes without saying this will be the 50th league game in a row where we will fail to score 4 goals.

    Depay-------ibrah-------rashford
    ----------------Pogba
    --------herrera--------Carrick
    Shaw---smalling---bailly---valencia
    ------------------------gea

Yes I am a Depay fan! It's his time to shine. I'd imagine mata would start ahead of him mind.

If Rooney starts I will have literally lost all faith in Mourinho. If he can't drop him now then he shouldn't be our manager.

Depay wont be starting and shouldn't be anywhere near the first 11. He is on par with Rooney and Schneidlerin as the worst players in our squad.

Yeah exactly what I think, I was expecting no bullshit or pandering to anybody so I'll be very very disappointed if he's not dropped.

The melt down on here when Rooney starts over Herrera is going to be interesting.
Actually, I expected neither to start, but probably Herrera will. Nor Rooney or Carrick have the physical capacity now to face Leicester of all teams after playing 90 minutes two days ago.

He'd be insane to start Rooney based on his last 2 games.
Unless… he wants Rooney to be so miserable he takes him out before half-time.

By Rooney's demure in the pitch after the Northampton game you can tell he himself knows he's going to be dropped and will not start tomorrow.

It;s difficult to give a score prediction for matches atm when we don't know who will be playing, What time does the score prediction close tomorrow?

Rooney plays we lose 1-2. Rooney doesn't play we win 2-1.

So Shaw is injured right? Blind to replace him then.

    DDG
    Valencia Bailly Smalling Blind
    Carrick
    Mata Fellaini Pogba Rashford
    Zlatan

If Rooney has to start against Leicester, the only position I can think of is right winger replacing Mata or Lingard. Sounds mad playing a player like Rooney on the right but that's the only safe position to put someone who isn't good enough at the moment in our XI. Ironically, I thought he did better on the right against City 2nd half than as a no 10 role in first half.
And also Rooney's work rate will be valuable to cover Valencia while he is going forward.

Will the ever-looming hattrick stay with us all season or is it just a thing for this game?

Rooney's resume states "May score hattrick".
