We really should have enough in reserve to win this one, even without Pogba, but I've just got a bad feeling that this will be a very, very frustrating draw, played out just the same as so many home games last season.

Everton to score first, and pack their defence, and United trying to force a way through the middle, squandering the few chances that we do get.
    Going for a 1-1 (Sigurdsson - Lukaku)

It can't be good for us that they've now lost their last 3 games in a row
...Okay? Why not? Just shows that they're in shit form. Would you prefer it if they had won the last 3 in a row? :p

There's no automaticity in a team turning around their form just because they've been really poor for a while.

    - United without Pogba
    - Everton have lost its last 2 games

    Draw incoming...

Lukaku - Everton's highest goal scorer in PL playing for ManUtd
Rooney - ManUtd's highest goal scorer in PL and overall playing for Everton

Then you add Fellaini (25th best scorer in PL for Everton),
    Schneiderlin,
    Keane

That's 5 players who played for both teams.

I am happy that this game is at Old Trafford as I would not be confident if we were away to them especially without Pogba. I think it will be really tough, and Everton will pack their midfield.

I would predict a close fought win for us, 2-1

Even though I'm bricking it without Pogba too, in reality if we don't feel confident in going into games without one player, then we really don't deserve to be anywhere near the top and Mourinho has failed at building a side.

Which is why I feel we should be more confident. We've scored a minimum of 2 goals in all of our games this season - our issue last season was unable to break down teams and our goal difference showed it.

Everton are whack at the moment. Best time to play them.

Watching the Man Utd/Everton PL goals on Sky. Been some crackers over the years. Horrible watching Moyes celebrating though. Noticed that Fellaini did the same celebration way back then...pointing to the name on his shirt.

We should win this easy though. Shame on us if we don't. Would love to be the architect of a Koeman sacking!

Are they whack enough to lose 3 in a row though? Can't see this being high scoring, 1-0 or 1-1.

I'm going for United 3-1, Pogba injured is a massive blow but I think Herrera or Fellaini will have a great games. Type of players to really fight for a spot in the team and prove people wrong.

Everton got some firepower but I don't see anything that should worry us, Siggy will probably bang a free kick in the top corner which we can't do anything about.

    Lukaku x2, Fellaini x1

Everton are embarassing right now but Koeman knows how to play at Old Trafford. His record is great and things like that matter.

I would like to see us win 3-0 at least after that stoke game. Hope Everton will be open to attack and we might find a route to counter.

    ............................ De gea.............................
    ... Valencia.. Bailly... Jones..... Blind...........
    ......................Fellaini... Matic......................
    ....................... Mikhitaryan....... ...................
    ... Rashford............................. Young..........
    ......................... Lukaku................................

Subs : romero, martial, mata, herrera, smalling.

They already lost 3 in a row, Chelsea, Spurs then Atalanta. We'll make it 4th defeat in a row hopefully.

We should. Just a bit worried because they are going to be desperate to walk away with atleast a point. Those defeats have put their backs against the wall and they will probably try to play a bit better than they have done recently.

Still, that's what we should be able to deal with. Hope Mata and Mkhi score goals, long overdue.

They will play a highly defensive game and try to grab a point. If we succeed in breaking their defense and didn't concede a stupid set piece we'll be fine.

Fair assessment, might need an Ashley Young or Blind in the team again for crossing

Everton are embarassing right now but Koeman knows how to play at Old Trafford. His record is great and things like that matter.

This time around Rooney is his problem. I have no doubt Rooney will try to raise his game but he's simply passed it. Best chance he has at scoring would be a penalty. They're not playing well at all so I fully expect a comfortbale win. 3+ - 0 to us.

    DDG
    Valencia Bailly Jones Blind
    Matic Fellaini
    Rashford Mkhitaryan Martial
    Lukaku

I'm in the minority, but I wouldn't mind seeing in lieu of Pogba missing, Carrick and Matic in the middle, with Rashord, Martial on the wings, with Miki just behind Lukaku. I doubt we'd see that though I 'd say Fellaini and Mata will probably start.

I can see Rooney scoring, these kinds of stories tend to happen in football.

I still think we'll win mind.

Was on the bench in the Basel game. I'm fine with this imo. Said before the season started he should only be a domestic cup player this season

We might see more of him as injuries set in later in the season. If he really is just going to be a cup player for us, this might be his last season with us.

I loved how Jose shut the journalists asking questions about Rooney in today's press conf.
It was daft to expect Jose to comment on Rooney's form.

And the question before that, something about how the rest of the players have stepped up because we have got rid of Rooney now. He clearly said he ll not answer that question.

I'm going to vomit if the deadball merchant scores against us again

We SHOULD beat this lot comfortably - not going to be the case, naturally.

Any Sri Lanka reds on here? I know one guy's user name is Lanka something but can't find on mobile. Need a bar suggestion showing the match near Negombo or Columbo.

Rooney and Sigurdson will both score so we need 3 goals to win. Not going to be easy.

Have a bad feeling about this one, you just know Everton will turn up

They will, for sure. But so will we...and our guns are bigger than theirs.
I have absolutely no fear in playing this team and we should use it to work on our goal difference.

It's actually quite scary that I am able to be so bullish about our chances of winning games. The last time I expected/demanded a win against virtually every team we play, was when SAF was around. Jose has definitely increased our standards. The fact that if we draw now, people get really pissed off, speaks wonders. Most fans are demanding that we win every game we play, so the Jose effect is definitely taking hold.

When Jose joined, he told us to forget the last 3 seasons - he will bring in a new mentality of winning. He wasn't wrong.

Is there ever any positivity in these match threads? Every single one I look at it's just full of people having 'a bad feeling about this one'.

They've been on a horrible run and it'll continue at Old Trafford. 2-0 United.

Koeman, Everton and Sigurdson all do well at OT in recent year so there's reasons to be wary
