Pretty good except for Rashford but at least he's in the box with good chances.

What does that mean? he is a striker, he needs to be in the box. Also his hold up play is awful, ball cant stick to him.

We have some players who just stroll through games and it's hurting us badly. Mkhitaryan and Rashford have been very lazy and need to step it up. We are among the lowest teams in the PL in terms of workrate and I don't understand why we lack intestity in our play. And is it too much to ask for higher pressing? Why do we always allow the other team time and space to just walk into our half unchallenged? The team has to stop this sitting deep thing and start to press higher.

Why do people keep comparing Welbeck to Rashford? The pair are worlds apart in terms of potential at similar ages and overal ability.

    Ridiculous comparison.

"Potential" is just a word with little meaning.

It doesn't matter if you're an avid football watcher or a renowned scout with decades of experience, no one can predict the future.

I'm sure the word "potential" was mentioned many times along with the names of Welbeck, Macheda, James Wilson etc. It's what the player is doing here and now that counts.

It’s a shame we don’t have a larger squad as Rash could probably do with a loan to side who’ll play him upfront every week till the end of the season.

Thought it was a decent half. We’re in control and should win comfortably. Good to have some real firepower on the bench as well.

Derby are only dangerous on counters but other than they're full of holes and if we don't such frustrating players as Mikhi and Rashford upfront the game would have been dead by now.

Erratic technique, lots of missed chances, pace and workrate being their biggedt strengths - it's hardly a ridiculous comparison.

Rashford, even at this young age, is technically superior in every way imaginable. Before his bad run of form, he would seemingly add a new dimension to has game on a weekly basis.

A young lad short on confidence will certainly miss chances, no surprise there. Consistency is an issue for every young player to ever play the game.

Welbeck was and still is average. Rashford has bags of potential.

    Diabolical comparison.

Mkhi's been pretty good imo. Created some of our best chances, dunno why people are singling him out.

I thought Mkhitaryan been fairly good. Get into good positions and link up quite well with some nice passes as well. People seem to disagree here though
For me he was frustrating, did some things well as you said, but then broke down a couple of our more threatening attacks with horrendous play. Hot and cold, and it is not what I like to see at 0-0 in a cup tie.

Would rather see Martial than Lukaku being subbed on as our striker.

Martial IMO is 10-20 games as a starting CF away from cementing his place as our undisputed #9, just a whole different level of talent in him compared to Lukaku.

Different kind of striker though, but the more dynamic kind that we need.

If Coutinho, Firmino, Mane and Salah are the Beatles, what band are Mata, Rashford, Lingard and Mkhitaryan?

Does he even touch it? I think he closes his eyes while heading. That is why he is so shit at headers. Second chance was very easy too.
If we lose this now, mourinho will be blamed, but its not his fault we cant finish should be atleast 2 up, rashford alone has fecked up 3 chances and carson's had his great game in the shop window.
I'm surprised he made contact, he usually jumps away from the ball especially contesting a kick out.

Just need to up the tempo when we get to the edge of the box, instead we slow it down which gives their players time to mark players and close space down.

Not too bad a performance imo.

A lot of his shots have been outside or not even shooting when in the box but you may have missed those games?

Bring bog brush head on for Mihki and free the Pog!

I don't even know where to start with this post.

Potential has little meaning. You heard it here first folks!

Mkhi's been pretty good imo. Created some of our best chances, dunno why people are singling him out.
He's had some noticable moments of really poor play as well so people are bound to remember those, he's done alright in general and should have an assist for that Rashford chance.

We're lacking a competent right winger and a clinical striker. Our attack is essentially crippled. Should still have enough to beat Derby though

He's not a great #9. Much better on the wing. That's where he's played the majority of his career

The direct opposite of the truth!

He had an awful cross early in a good position, but I don't remember breaking down more attacks. Pogba and Rashford have been more frustrating in the final third in my view even if Pogba like Mkhitaryan have been hot and cold a lot.

Yup, it is glaringly obvious. Neither Rashford nor Lukaku are clinical.

He started the game off very poorly, some very frustrating passes and touches but he grew into the game and ended the half very well. I don't think he's been brilliant but at the same time, he's not been our worst player either. Played like a 7/10
