    For the first time this season the line up has completely destroyed my appetite for the game.

    Van Gaal has generally almost cured it, but even he can't relent the sickness of United managers playing players wildly out of position.
     
    :lol: Rooney is untouchable. Different rules apply to him.

    Can never take LVG seriously.
     
    I predict zero goals and a loss. 4 players on the bench should be starting. I'm starting to lose patience with LVG I'm starting to believe he is not the right man for the job. That line up is depressing.
     
    This 'Ashley Young as a right-back' stuff is so weird. I'm always uncomfortable seeing it (and it really didn't work at the Emirates).
     
    I don't like this lineup at all. Rooney. Again. Consistent ineptitude, rewarded with undroppable status. And no doubt we'll see our (already) best player marginalised out wide for the sloth to start up top. Herrera was singled out for missing one chance at the weekend, he has paid the price by being dropped. Jokeshop. I'm not as high on Herrera as some are in here (I think he's massively overrated by our fans) but to drop him after the weekend is pathetic. Think that midfield pairing is too slow also.

    I really hope I'm wrong, but overall I'm getting sick and tired of Louis and his team selections.
     
    The fact that Herrera has been benched and Rooney is still in the side just highlights LVG's stupidity and arrogance.

    It's hard to take him seriously when he does this kind of shit.

    A few tweets posted earlier in the thread had journalists predicting Rooney at 10 with Martial at 9. No idea how Mata and Lingard would line up if that's the case though.

    It's hard not to feel disheartened if you are Herrera. Play well and still get dropped for someone who's just in the team for his reputation.

    I've been LvG's biggest supporter on this site but he can feck off with his Rooney love-in.
     
    I think playing Young as a fullback is asking for trouble.

    So many wrongs in this post. Anyway, Depay missed the team bus and LvG is not happy with him according to reports.
     
    Rooney is undroppable, we're going to have to get used to it and hope he turns it around. If he's allowed to continue like this then we will have to wait till he exposes himself at Euro 2016. Mata in behind Martial could have been really promising too.

    I hope Lindgaard gets a goal or assist though, I think he deserves it.
     
    Comfortable 3-0 for CSKA tonight, LvG is a joke, the same midfield combination that got us slaughtered vs Arsenal and dropping Herrera on the basis of one bad game again. I actually dread seeing Rooney on the team sheet. Martial to be shoehorned out wide. Blind at CB again is hopefully due to Jones not being fit and not that LvG deems him better.
     
    Very meh lineup. Carrick and Schweinsteiger in the middle... Hopefully we don't get overrun.

    Lingard has looked very good in every game he's played. Unlucky not to have hit goals against both City (off the crossbar) and I forget who the other game was against (hit the post). Depay meanwhile has been horrendous and needs fans to be patient with him.

    Not understanding the complaints one bit. Outside of Young in defence it's a good team.

    Isn't anyone on the bench that can even come inject some pace/creativity or even just a pure goal scorer. Hopefully in the next window or two we can solve that.

    I'm losing interest in UTD and football, I've been a UTD fan for 25 years
     
    We'll probably score 5 today. When the caf likes the lineup we normally play bad and when we don't like the lineup we normally play well.
     
    Worried about Young at RB. He was shaky last time there.
     
    Expect Moscow to crowd Martial and nobody to be there who can take advantage of it.
