If I wasn't watching the game and just reading this thread, I'd think we were simultaneously playing great and playing awful, and Rooney was somehow both our worst and best player.

Any criticism should go directly to the front 6. LVG has sent out the best team available with the right tactics.

Our front 4 though have not been slick enough in movement and our finishing has been poor.

Rooney the best player in our team so far has done well but BFS, Carrick and Lingard have been average, Mata and Martial wasteful.

At some point the players have to take full responsibility
    Jesus...

I think we are doing alright. Rooney looks sharp aswel. Maybe this is where we need to "hide" him

Also, I don't think he's been shite but describing Rooney as 'good' is a bit odd. He's done nothing. Kept the ball better but good would be being generous.

Yeah, started good, but fell off midway or a bit earlier. 5 fr me till now.

Yeh. Any logical explanation why some were booing? That's just weird.

We laugh at other clubs for booing their teams yet here are some of our own, booing after we clearly stepped it up.

Was it feck deserved. Fecking hell.
The effort don't deserve it. I see our players trying hard and they should be encouraged for that, not boo-ed. The 'attack' chants are unnecessary too considering we've been going at the CSKA defence all half.

Its not that we havent played well, we have played better than we have in most games this season. Its just the final ball. The crowd at Ot though are impatient and rightly so. Van gaal thinks they are happy, which they are not and rightly making their displeasure known.

Even though Young has played well at RB I would like to see him on the left instead of Lingard, we need more quality in the final third and Lingard isn't up to it tonight.
Having both Carrick and Schweini is a bit of a waste in the middle as well, no need for two deep MF's when CSKA are sitting so deep.

We need to calm down a bit in the box and make good decisions. Pressure is building up and the players are feeling it

Lingard is playing well but just trying too hard because everyone has been encouraged to shoot

I actually came to that conclusion by watching it.

Lot of panic in our play when we reach the final third and Carrick is giving the ball away too often. :(

Would love to see Depay come on for Mata at half-time. We need some pace from the right to go with the pace down the left. That way, the CSKA players can't just sit in the middle - they'd have to spread.

Yep I'd agree swap Mata for Depay and put Depay left and Jesse right wing.

Half the crowd might as well feck off for the night. Players will be better off without them.

Yes, I'm sat on my armchair.

Young has clearly been our best player, IMO.

    Lingard off Memphis on pleaae

Very harsh on Lingard. Final ball a bit off but overhitting is a clear sign of nerves. That'll get better as the game goes on. If you bring Depay on we immediately lose that threat out wide. He'll want to start coming inside and linking up with Rooney and Shweinsteiger. That's the last thing we need with Mata being on the other side.

I don't think Utd are that much better than most fans around the world and laughing should never conditioned by things done or not by the club or its fans.

The only disappointing bits about today is the end product, and the fans. Fans not urging us on at all.

I'd wager a considerable amount that the same people calling for Memphis, will be the first to call him shit the minute he makes a mistake.

    He's been shit.

Why would you think pinging a ball into the feet of an attacker with back to goal is as good as putting a player through on goal? One of them guarantees a chance, the other doesn't. Carrick played in defense and wasn't capable of that kind of passing.

One (what Blind does) is a long ball, and one that he's only really able to make because he's got loads of time and space (as evidenced by the fact he barely made any of them last season from midfield)

And the other (what Carrick does) is a much harder skill from a much harder position.

Carrick's pass is at least equally as difficult to pull off. And then you factor in that he's in midfield, where passing is also harder to pull off.

In genral, Carrick shows more variety in his passing. The pace on his passing is more varied, his two-touch passing is better. He injects better tempo, and passes between the lines, which Blind (and most others) can't do.

By your logic, Scholes pinging/zipping a tricky pass to Beckham, and then Beckham crossing it for a chance = Beckham is a better passer.

We need to trust our self and the manager needs to fire the team in half time we need a real good team talk.

When you get your chance, you have to take it. he hasn't!

We've played well, probably should have scored. The goals will come, completely dominating this game and not only in the possession stats. We are playing the ball up quickly (long ball sometimes), getting it wide, crossing, using our pacy wingers. This looks much better.

Yep. Really disappointed in them today. We're actually playing attacking football but they're not getting behind the team at all. It's like they've already made their minds up.

That No To Racism ad just showing how many footballers have strangely shaped heads

Lingard and Rojo look to have a very good partnership on the left. Just a shame the final ball has been shit.

I have been pretty critical of Memphis but I would like to see him come on. I think a game of this pace could suit him.

Literally doing that and it's exactly how you said it. It sounds like people just want any reason to complain even though we are attacking more from what I gather.
