LVG walking towards the tunnel, on his own, looking a bit glum as the crowd chant "Attack attack attack" at him.

I am one of the guys who are sure Rooneys best days are in the past but he has been no worse than anyone else this half.
He has done well, but the longer the game went on the further he moved away from the front line. Which is the only disappointment. Lingard trying to be a hero too much, just inexperience. Just need that bit of composure in front of goal.

You just don't see Carrick play passes like that as often as Blind, Carrick uses the ball brilliantly but he doesn't have the end product Blind does.
Carrick transformed our midfield when he came back from injury last season. Thats when Van Gaal made him vice captain

We've actually played well and with intent, unlucky not to be in front so far. Wasting the final ball too often. The crowd has been fecking awful though. No support for the team at all. Disappointing to see.

I like Lingard's confidence, but his touch has been abysmal. Not sure if there's a good option to replace him, but we need someone more accurate to make use of all the opportunities we're creating down the left.

We must have played amazing football in the first 5 minutes.

Also, I don't think he's been shite but describing Rooney as 'good' is a bit odd. He's done nothing. Kept the ball better but good would be being generous.

Slightly better tempo than in the last few games but still slow, shit and low IQ football.
We take AGES to bring the ball from defence to attack. Unless we hoof it up. Everyone takes 5-6 seconds and at least 3 touches to look around and decide what to do.

Not sure what else we can do here, CSKA are basically refusing to leave their half. People are really thick if they think it's easy to break that down.

Main issue is that the most space is being given to Rojo, who looks like he could cross for the next week without finding a teammate.

Wonder what Lingard has shown to currently be ahead of Periera. The latter is much the more intelligent footballer. We deserved atleast a goal in that half.

He should keep the ball closer to his feet when dribbling.

It's an improvement, but we need to score at some point. Still doesn't really look like happening.

Lingard is the only player running at people and he's the furthest up the pitch. Quit the bashing!
    He's been shit.
No way is Blind a better passer than Carrick.
His 'end product' or 'killer balls' consists of a long ball over the top. That's it. It's impressive, but Carrick's driven pass between the lines from midfield is more impressive.

Passing from midfield is harder than passing from defence too, and Blind doesn't look as good at passing when he plays the holding role compared to when he plays in defence. He does better with that bit of space and time, as his one-touch/zippy passing game isn't great.
Why would you think pinging a ball into the feet of an attacker with back to goal is as good as putting a player through on goal? One of them guarantees a chance, the other doesn't. Carrick played in defense and wasn't capable of that kind of passing.

Any criticism should go directly to the front 6. LVG has sent out the best team available with the right tactics.

Our front 4 though have not been slick enough in movement and our finishing has been poor.

Rooney the best player in our team so far has done well but BFS, Carrick and Lingard have been average, Mata and Martial wasteful.

At some point the players have to take full responsibility

It has been good 45 minutes of play. United has totally dominated the proceedings. The tempo has been quite fast and purposive in the final third. If only even one of these chances had been converted!

I'd keep Lingard on and put him on the right, with Mata off for Memphis on the left. We've been OK so far.

Also why does it seem like we are trying to get the ball to Blind at every corner, can we not just cross from the actual corner?

need more quality in attack. mata on the right isnt working imo. this is a game for depay i think.

Pereira is best centrally tho. lingard is a more natural wide player.

And why did we loan Januzaj again ?

    I'm not understanding the booing.
Our team is attacking - they are camping in the opponent's half and are genuinely attempting to score.
In our previous games where were doing 0-0, it looked like our players were just trying to maintain possession for 90 minutes as opposed to score, but this game is different. We are attacking.

Carrick transformed our midfield when he came back from injury last season. Thats when Van Gaal made him vice captain
You seem to be confusing better passer with better player.

Thought we played ok in that half . That Attack chant was uncalled for this time . But i guess it's a new craze.

What game have you been watching?

I'm getting more and more convinced of Rooney's decline. After a sharp start to the game he looks shot and less bothered as the game wore on. Dropping deeper by the minute is a sign of shying away from attacking responsibilities.

That's just not true at all for today
