Too many wrong options once we got into the final third.Just no need for two sitting midfielders against a team who are happy to sit deep and absorb. You need another attacking minded player in there. Herrera should have started in the midfield two.We haven't lacked attacking intent in the first half, just quality.

That's just sad. Definitely an improvement on the Crystal Palace game. Lingard has been a bit shit. Otherwise we're not doing so bad.He did overhit a few things but Lingard has been one of our most dangerous thus far. Our whole play became stale after the opening 10-15 mins, and we settled back into playing it slow giving CSKA every opportunity to organise themselves. Rooney hasn't really been better or worse than others. Quite a lot of shite passes, though a lot of them are low percentage passes, suggesting more freedom given by van Gaal.Our shooting is absolutely diabolical.
It's not even the short corner. It's taking it short and then making an extra pass backwards after that. We've done it enough times now for it to seem like something we've actually planned in training
The scoreline plays into the narrative but we've played quite well tonight.

He has done well, but the longer the game went on the further he moved away from the front line. Which is the only disappointment. Lingard trying to be a hero too much, just inexperience. Just need that bit of composure in front of goal.
Carrick transformed our midfield when he came back from injury last season. Thats when Van Gaal made him vice captainWe've actually played well and with intent, unlucky not to be in front so far. Wasting the final ball too often. The crowd has been fecking awful though. No support for the team at all. Disappointing to see.- Status
