Oops ... this is 12, don't think we're allowed that many :wenger:

This might be a chance to rest Lukaku but it would likely be Mata that gets left out?
Lukaku will probably never rest, just like Ibra last season. Apart from the smaller cups of course.

Currently, I feel we have a few untouchables. That would be Pogba, Lukaku, Matic, Valencia and thats pretty much it. Only including outfield players here.

I have a sneaking suspicion GD is going to be massively important this year - we really need to be giving these a twatting.

I will be dreading this game until we score. Hopefully 1st half. 1st half goal is the key.

"Without Zlatan, we cannot rotate the striker, especially because Marcus Rashford is playing also in other positions," said Mourinho, whose side face Crystal Palace on Saturday.

"So until the moment we have Zlatan, we cannot think about giving rest to our number nine the same way we give in other positions."

There's is no 50%, they're all fit. No casualties from Moscow.
He might not be injured but it was confirmed he had a knock on his thigh. Mourinho might feel there's no point risking him after two days against Palace

Will be missing this game today because of work. Due to that, I have no doubt we're going to put in one of our most dominant performances of the season and destroy palace.

No point of risking him on a home game before international break where he'll still be here? No way.

    What's your theory then?
For the moment, I still believe he's with the team. I'll give you my theory when it's confirmed he's not… although I can suggest I don't really agree with “given his current form there’s no way he would be left out of the squad for anything other than an injury.”

Fair enough. Has he been completely left out of any match day squad this season? I think you'll have a hard time arguing it's anything other than precautionary given that he came off in the last game with a knock and has had scans on it, if he isn't in the squad.

Got the feeling Jones will be forced and that will f… his international break. Mourinho wouldn't like a bit if he missed this game and then went on to play for England twice.

Precautionary unlike any other player who's injured and got in the squad, like Valencia, Jones and Fellaini? This when we have so few attacking players? Stay positive.

Is Martial fit? Mourinho just conceded that Rashford is never going to play as a striker, hope to God Lukaku stays fit until Ibra comes back.

He didn't say exactly that. And Rashford already started a game (Burton) as a lone striker, and he's probably starting Swansea away for the League Cup, and the two last Champions League games, after we're qualified. No worry there whatsoever.

Crystal Palace are yet to score a goal in the PL so far and Roy is their coach so that can only mean one thing - they are coming here to defend for their lives with two banks of four and get a point, I don't think they'll try to even attack us on the counter at all, so we need to go all guns blazing in this game. We should smash them 3-0 or 4-0 if we are able to attack and score early on, which means Crystal will open up and will have more space to attack in their defense hence an early goal is the key in this game because I feel like if we keep missing chances till the 30th minute our tempo will definitely slow down as we just had a long trip home from Moscow and Jose will be forced to depend on the subs from the 60th minute to break the deadlock. It is highly important that we score 3 points and go to the international break on top of the table as I feel Citeh is bound to drop points at the Stanford Bridge with Aguero injured. Also we should definitely keep our winning streak at home to maintain that aura of invincibility and make OT a fortress again.

I would start with this line up in the game

    -----------De Gea----------

    Valencia----Bailly----Lindelöf----Young

    ---------Herrera-----Matic--------

    ----Mata----- Mkhi----Rashford-----

    -------------Lukaku------------

Depending if Valencia is unfit, play Young at RB and Blind at LB, If Martial is fit, play him in LW, Rashford at RW and Mata through the middle. It'll be interesting to see Martial and Rashford playing together at the same time.

Felliani, Jones and Valencia spotted with squad at the Lowry. Looks like theyll be involved according to MEN. Martial wasn't spotted but lives close by so could be involved.

1st live game of the Season for me.. Hoping for a Martial Masterclss and Utd comfortable win

Same. On paper we should steam roll right over them but it has all the makings of one of those games where a rubbish team all of a sudden look like world beaters. New manager Placebo, United, being battered by teams. This will be the day their keeper becomes Brad Friedal then someone scores a david Bentley hat trick.

    Valencia----Bailly----Lindelöf----Young
Lindelöf as a starter would be great, to have someone who can pass the ball and distribute game from the back, against a sitting back team (from this point of view, Blind would be a good option too). But I'm not sure Mourinho trusts Lindelöf defensively enough yet.

And it would mean Jones is really unavailable to play, so what's the theatrics of getting him into the hotel for?

Be surprised if it’s anything other than:

    De Gea
    Valencia - Bailly - Smalling - Young

    Herrera - Matic
    Mkhi
    Mata - Lukaku - Rashford
Only doubt for me is Herrera/Fellaini

Roy Hodgson will have been practicing "shape"' all week. That scares me.

I would start Herrera even if Fellaini is fully fit. We can outplay them, without resorting to Fellaini's physicality or headers from the start. And we would have a major option on the bench to break them later.

I knew they were out for the last game but had Jose ever said they'd miss this game?
‘I think Jones I have many doubts and Fellaini I have a hope, just a hope.’

We're going to learn a lot about our killer instinct today. Our players should have the smell of blood in their nostrils. This should be nothing less than a slaughtering. They are absolute dog shit. Taking our foot off the gas would be a horrendous attitude to have, so hopefully we batter them.

Ugh, Martial LW and Rashford at #9, easy peasy Jose.

He'll likely play 5-20 minutes off the bench. He goes into the Lowry via the back entrance before the other players arrive.

Thats what I was expecting also, instead of not playing at all, which I thought was that guys point.
It makes sense to keep Rash and Martial rotating for me, hopefully he will give a passionate cameo like he has done so far this season.

Big weekend for us. We should be beating these lot and then Chelsea and City will take points off each other, possibly putting us top of the league before the internationals.

Martial came off with fatigue, why rest the player who is feeling good so you can play the player who is by his own admission struggling a bit.

I wasn't talking about this specific game and neither was Mourinho, he said he can't rest Lukaku until Ibra is back, which simply isn't true, there are plenty of teams at Old Trafford where he could give Lukaku a rest and play Rashford as the striker. As for fatigue, Lukaku looked pretty tired in the 2nd half against CSKA and he'll no doubt be playing both of Belgium's games before we play Liverpool.
